Age: 50?

Isn't that a bit old? I was hoping for a strict constructionist under the age of 25.

Good choice, a solid double, but really a missed opportunity for a grand slam home run.

I have't been able to find out where most of the potential nominees stood on the Second Ammendment. Anyone know where Roberts stands?

From what I gather, he is very pro-Constitution.

Good for you. Now this opens the door for him to appoint Brown or Jones or Clement for the Rehnquist fill, and we still have Stevens considering retirement and Ruth Buzzi ill. Hmmmm. Can you say most conservative court in 50 years?

Yes, and it was certain Bush would nominate a woman, a minority or Gonzales.

You have no credibility, nor do any that raised these unfounded accusations. The President just shot down his critics, he is due an apology.

One of the beautiful things about this pick is that when the left goes into their pouting mode about "diversity," it'll show just how superficial their standards are.

Ben Shapiro doesn't have his law degree yet, otherwise he would be my choice. How old is Mark Levin? He would be awesome too.

All I care about is where he stands on the Constitution of the United States of America and the sanctity of his Oath of Office.

Let's see if all the Bush bashers here now come out and apologize.

Absolutely not!!!

Bush has liberal tendencies and holding his feet to the fire is the only way move the conservative movement forward. Sniffling cowards like you accomplish nothing.

Be ever vigilant!!! Prepare to raise hell again if there is talk of replacing Renquist with Gonzales!!!!!

Let's be clear.

IF, the RATs say Roberts is within the "Judicial Mainstream", it means he is another Souter/O'Connor--a flaming liberal.

IF, the RATs rant and rave and say they will filibuster because Roberts is "outside the judicial mainstream", then we have a good pick.

In that case, Roberts is Borked and we end up with another Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Regardless, it is impossible today to place a strict Constitutionalist on SCOTUS. We will someday have 9 Marxist interpreters who make new law.

Don't get your hopes up. We will end up with another kissin-cousin of Souter/Ginsberg.
