BLAST AT CITY TUBE STATION - FOUR BOMB EXPLOSIONS AROUND LONDON
Sky News ^ | July 7, 2005

Posted on 07/07/2005 1:45:13 AM PDT by RWR8189

There has been an explosion at Aldgate East underground station in London, causing the closure of the entire Tube network.

There are also reports that a second incident took place at Edgware Road station in north west London.

The Aldgate East blast was caused by "some kind of power surge", according to Tube infrastructure company Metronet, which is responsible for maintaining the Metropolitan line.

A spokesman said: "We don't know the extent of the problem yet."

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We have just sent some resources out to the scene."

British Transport Police confirmed that there are "walking wounded" and said paramedics have responded to one report of a person classed as "life at risk".

"It's chaos, with people trying to work out what has happened," said a spokesman.

"All we know at the moment is that staff reported a loud bang at 8.49am. No one is sure what caused an explosion, but it is thought it could have been a collision, a power cut, or a power cable problem."

One witness said the packed underground train he was on was 200 metres from Kings Cross when there was a huge flash.

The train stopped and people were using umberellas to smash windows of the trains. Passengers were led out of the train by underground staff.

He added people were milling around Kings Cross covered in soot.

Poor Mr. Blair. It was only yesterday he was seen punching the air and dancing a jig.

This attack must be answered by at least one major regime change and it doesn't matter which one (actually, it matters to us to get the one with the most oil money still going to terror groups and that is Iran).

Syria first. Then Iran. Mugabe's gotta go, too (and I don't mean "go" to Paris on a state visit!)

Found an article. Israel was getting ready host and economic conference close to the first blast site:

"British police told the Israeli Embassy in London minutes before today's explosions they had received warnings of possible terror attacks in the city, a senior Israeli official said.

Israel was holding an economic conference near the scene of one of the explosions. Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was supposed to attend, but the attacks occurred before he arrived.

Just before the blasts, Scotland Yard called the security officer at the Israeli Embassy and said warnings of possible attacks had been received, the official said. He did not say whether British police made any link to the economic conference."

How Blair will be able to work for a few hours this morning to talk about global warming is a mystery to me.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Let's hope we are being paranoid.

He sounded somewhat shakey up to me.

FWIW, I thought he was so angry that he had to be very careful while he spoke.

This may have some ramifications with respect to the Olympics. The ACLU and Liberals that wish to release the prisoners at Gitmo may not have such leverage now and the liberal screaming press will have to ratchet down the racket with respect to releasing those pieces of excrement at Gitmo. Maybe now Al Queda and Muslims will receive a cold shoulder from the sympathetic misinformed head up their ass liberals now that the true Islamic attitudes have been reinforced with the London bombings.

If we don't start executing the criminal radicals that are apprehended we can expect more attacks.

Listening to Tony: You can feel Tony's pain for his countrymen just as you could feel Bush's on 9-11. The resolve that good will conquer evil is the end game. Prayers to all.

I suspect the attacks are related to the trial of Abu Hamza which opened in London yesterday.

"One issue" posters have tunnel vision and use every opportunity to push their agenda; then they are surprised when people react disdainfully toward them AND their issue.

Prayers for the people of London and for all of England.

There should be no doubt that this is a global war on terror and that we cannot rest, cannot stop. Ever.

Possibly, they might have just heard some chatter about bombs on busses, and their minds went right to Jerusalem. Alternatively, they might have thought Israel could possibly corroborate info about a London attack.

But, as Peach opined... the Israel notification has not been substantiated and the jihadists always like to blame Jews.

Blair looks very shaken indeed. Prayers for the people of Britain on this terrible day.

Blair's pulling a Giuliani. He's heading for London. He's giving bin Laden and the boys a good look at his extended middle finger.

Britain has to eliminate their radical Muslim hideouts - they have so many "congregations" there now, they're going to have a heck of a time rooting out all the cockroaches who are in London alone.

When they raise the terror alert, police checkpoints go up on Capitol Hill and all vehicles are screened. I can imagine that senators, like the rest of us, refuse to change their ways unless absolutely necessary.

We all recognize that if someone wants to commit an attack, they'll find a way to do it.
