Also survey plats as recorded sometimes even now are totally illegible. Those who have to read these documents anyway learn how to do it. Even more fun is deciding what they meant to say in spite of what they actually did say. Probably one out of four deed descriptions have a fatal error that would make literal reading, even if perfectly legible, partial gibberish--much like some of my posts :)

There's a book out by a Col. (Lt?) who was there that proclaims exactly what you said. I have it here but cannot put my hands on it right now. I think it's titled CRASH AT ROSWELL or something close. He includes pics of himself at meetings with the other parties involved. I think this gives it some credibility. It's by Colonel Corso. The Day After Roswell
