What kind of useful results can be obtained from such small samples?

The kind of results the sponsor of the study is paying to get.

"I don't think so. The heart has to work harder to pump heavy, thick blood. For a really healthy heart you need five minutes of thick blood then five minute of thin blood. Then let the heart rest for five minutes and repeat."

Actually we are both right. I just consulted with my 'live in health care professional', and they said blood too thin is as bad fr the heart as blood too thick. Thinner blood causes the heart to pump faster to distribute oxygen throughout the body's system because it's lesser density.

Thicker blood has the same effect but for opposite reasons. Thicker blood causes the heart to strain distributing oxygen throughout the body's system, and doing so it's working harder.

In the case of alcohol and blood pressure I was correct that the blood thinning effect of alcohol causes the heart to work harder to do its job resulting in higher blood pressure.

Wonder why they recommend an aspirin a day to fight heart attacks. Aspirin is a blood thinner.

Aspirin doesn't thin the blood to the extent that mass quantities of alcohol does. Aspirin is a blood thinner in a way that helps blood flow for people who are at risk of heart attacks or blood clotting conditions. A very different kind of thing than alcohol.

If they had a snickers bar instead of 3 beers (roughly the same amount of carbohydrate) I wonder what would have happened to their blood pressure.

My theory is that when you need medication to keep your top from popping off, then you're living just about right.

Haha........ then I'm really living right! lol....

Actually I can't drink like I used to - court order - lol, not really - but I can only have a glass or two of wine or a couple beers before I get either sleepy or light headed - Once you've had children you have to be alert and ready to respond to anything - I rarely drink these days......

I stick to drinking only the 'clear' liquors, vodka and gin. I found that I was allergic to the whiskeys and bourbons. Everytime I drank those I tended to breakout in handcuffs.

Well apparently, in my younger and much wilder days, any type of alcohol I bought was tainted - I used to throw up for days and get the worst headache........

Sure glad I buy stuff now that isn't rotten -
