I wouldn't trust ANYTHING those two scheme up.
The way this headline reads, it's as if Clinton and Boxer are the president and can ram election reforms through! It's a bill, and like all bills, they can die on the floor.

We need election reform, but only to prevent election fraud, which the Dems have proven this last election they are very fond of. You can bet there must be something in this bill that makes election fraud easier if all these lefties are praising it.

Kill this bill, and make up a better one. If someone doesn't want to show proper identification when they vote, can't figure out where they live and are supposed to vote, they are probably too stupid to vote anyways. NO to felons voting.

Sounds like a good start.

One concern with the 60 day limitation would be how you treat people who are moving?

Right!

The Count Every Vote Act

More like the "Squeeze as Many Illegal Votes in There as We Can" Act.

....how you treat people who are moving?.....

A citizen would not ever be exempt from the requirement.

A person who changes residence within some reasonable time within the 60 day period for obtaining the card should present the card to the registrar in the new district for registration in that district. The Federal card is not local, but may be used by locals as they see fit.

The national card implies two elections on the same day, a federal election and a local election. Different rules could apply to the local but national rules would be uniform.

The rules are restrictive, not permissive. The voter is responsible for his own compliance and failure to comply could result in being turned away. To exercise the privilege the voter must also exercise responsibility.

Oh no, Karl, Shrillary is talking about the feel-good side of voter reform - you know: the one of trite sayings and false intentions, not the election reform of common sense, difficult decisions, and an insistence of respect of law.

Out here in the Soviet of Washington, it is amazing to hear from the citizenry (from both the left and the right) the call to purge the voter roles (in an effort to rid ourselves of all of the illegitimate "voters") only to see that cry TOTALLY ignored by election officials and the Legislature!

On our state level we have this pseudo-reform being proposed by both sides of the fence, and the central issues of voter identification and access by the military is being treated as a sacred cow - off the table!

1. Proof of citizenship and picture ID to register
2. Ditto to vote (picture voter reg. card).
3. Have to request absentee each election (and show the ID), not a one time request for all future elections.
4. Purge the voter rolls simultaneous with a driver license / state ID expiring so one re-registers ever 5 years (or so).
5. Purge for felons every year.

Now, if that means less votes but more honest votes, I'm all for it!

Ugggghhh... Sickening. Dems using this travesty of democracy in WA as an excuse to say "See? We need election reform," and make it even easier to cheat.

As one example, proposing mail-only voting in light of our fraudulent governor's race is like offering someone with emphysema a cigarette.

Making it a federal holiday would change much. First of all, kids would be home from school, making it more difficult for single parents to vote. Secondly, the probability of harassment at the polls would be greater (especially if ex-felons were in line). I'm not in favor of early voting either. Increasing the hours polls are open is fine.

I din't know either. Thanks for posting this. And, as I remember, my sister said she and her husband voted by absentee ballot in Florida just because it was easier.

Exactly. We have ample time to register to vote. This would just cause total chaos (which, of course, is what they are hoping for).

unveiled comprehensive voting reform legislation to make sure that every American is able to vote and every vote is counted

And if you are a Democrat, you can vote twice and be counted 4 times. If you can't vote, we will vote for you.

Your point is well taken, but I don't see how making it a "federal holiday" is going to increase voter turnout. Polls are open over 12 hours in some areas on Nov. 2nd as it is. I made it to the poll 1/2 hour before they closed because I had to be on the road that day, but I simply told my employer I would be leaving early too, to exercise my vote.

We have early voting here and the harrassment republicans endured to vote early was really intimidation by the democrats. Shame the GOP didn't seem to have the hutzpah to call it what it was. I really felt those that had to endure it were left out to dry by the GOP.

I hope the GOP is paying attention on this one and doesn't let this slip by while they're sleeping on their laurels from the past election.

Missing is any requirement to combat vote fraud. I wonder why?

Why deny the dead their right to vote?

Just follow the formula that the 'rats in Washington State use. Clinton and Boxer should love that.
