Any suggestions what to get mr.h for Christmas??? I'm on an extremely limited budget. I think I've done coupons for "favors" and backrubs and things enough . . . he's got tons of t-shirts . . . any suggestions from the women AND the men on the Dose would be appreciated. :-)
Love that picture of Dick Cheney Gretchen thoughtful studious taking it all in, giving no indication of whether he agrees or not the sign of the a great politician.
Thre President looks very happy in the pictures, I am certain this is part in the knowledge that Berlusconi
has been cleared on corruption.
Does he like Christian music? If so, you might try some of the Hillsong CD's, especially ones that feature Darlene (spelling errata) Zschek.
I read the first page or so as the other pages were printing out, and it flowed much better with the changes you had made.
I know what you mean about editing--I write so many words that I'm always cutting down, so try to write with less words and then it doesn't always make sense.
Feedback soon--probably tomorrow.
I haven't seen it but would love to hear about it.
He's not into it, but I am so will look for those CD's . .. :-)
"Don't go there .. you'd best leave Hillary out of this."
Good point re Berlusconi being cleared on the corruption charges.
I've been keeping all the drafts of these first chapters just to see how ridiculous it gets. I haven't printed all of the changes but what I have is 3/4 of one inch thick. Mercy! I do hope I'll develop the ability to write better, earlier.
Silvio and Georgio -- two distinguished gentlemen.
Gift certificates? He could pick out what he wants that way. I've given Mr. Prairie gift certificates to a car wash that does detailing so he can take his truck in and get it all washed, vacuumed etc. That's been a good gift.
Great pictures.
"The Straight Story." Here's the deal.
It's based on a true story about Alvin Straight in Laurens, Iowa, who was 73-ish. He had a fight (liquor was involved) with his brother, Lyle, ten years before the movie begins, and they hadn't spoken since. They'd been extremely close till then.
Lyle has a stroke and Alvin decides to go visit him, "a hard swallow on his pride," but he can't drive a car due to his eyes. Doesn't want "someone else driving my bus," so he sets out driving a lawn mower with a tiny little homemade trailer behind to sleep in, over 300 miles and across the Mississippi River, to see Lyle, hoping he's still alive.
The people he meets along the way, and the lives he touches, make it an amazing story. The score is one of the most evocative I've ever heard. And I cry in several places every time I see it. The movie is slow-paced, but to me that is one of its essential charms.
Richard Farnsworth played Matthew in "Anne of Green Gables."
It's got a few swear words but the spirit in the production is not at all coarse.
Tons of gorgeous Midwest scenery. I highly recommend it.
It gave me a good idea of what life is like for the folks in your region.
The President had some VERY stern words for Iran and Syria today. Named them both specifically in the phrasing he used. Either warnings were being given or clues given about what's to come next in the WOT I believe. Or both.
