Too busy protesting than to actually vote.

Fewer than one in 10 voters Tuesday were 18 to 24, about the same proportion of the electorate as in 2000Phish concerts, weed and multiple viewings of Michael Moore's cinematic craptaculars remain -- all things being equal -- reliable indicators of congenital slackerdom.
(Note To Any 18-24 FReepers Reading This: you're all excluded from the above, of course.) :)

Wasn't it CarVILE that said that campaigns that relied on unexpected voters had a name; LOSERS.

Here's my take.
Voting was just so mainstream, and turning out Bush was the establishment thing to do.
That doesn't exactly sound like something youthful Americans do - sure, they jump on bandwagons, but man, they reject the hard sell and Bush is counter-culture at this point. Ollie North was the hero for our generation when everyone else was hating his gutts.
It still applies.

When I was in college I voted absentee. Maybe the kids are sending votes home & not voting near campus.

NBC was making big deal of 13% increase in new voters X 13% bump for Kerry among younger crowd. (42% to 56%) What's 13% of 13% of FL total? I swear this is stuff thrown out there for Calif. to absorb. They are desperate.
