We've had the same thing happen in our area----liberal heaven on the Mendocino coast of California. Kerry's got these huge signs all over the place, but for whatever reason all we can get are rather small Bush/Cheney ones. As soon as they go up, someone comes along and takes them down. I was at headquarters the other day and told the people to write a letter to the editor of our weekly paper but was told they won't take any letters from those of us who are pro Bush. No anti Kerry letters at all. How's that for being fair and balanced.
Oh, and another thing, the Dems have been registering outside the post office illegally. Don't remember how many feet away from a federal building they have to be during this procedure, but believe me they're within touching distance. Oh the joys of living in "loonyville". I swear every time I happen to see a rare Bush/Cheney sticker on a car I chase them down just so I can wave at them. Feel like I belong to a very private club.
My third set of Bush Cheney lawn signs were stolen yesterday while I was at the Bush rally in NJ
My fourth set of Bush-Cheney signs were stolen yesterday.
I just happened to run acrossed this site looking for ways to protect my yard signs. Some good ideas here. But just so you don't feel too high and mighty, Bush supporters aren't the only ones getting their yard signs stolen. About a week ago I noticed a man on the corner who had a hand written sign telling whomever it was that stole his Bush signs to bring them back. Being a Kerry supporter but also an American who strongly believes in free speech I stopped by the Bush/Cheney re-election HQ which is near my work to pick up a few signs for the guy. I stopped by after work and told him I was a Kerry supporter but I think it's wrong to steal peoples political signs and wanted him to have a positive experience with someone who supports Kerry. I felt good about it and I think he appreciated it. We didn't talk much as I was on my way to my inlaws just stopped by to make things right. Last night however some folks came through the neighborhood and took all the Kerry Edwards signs including mine. People also scratched the bumper sticker my wife has for the Human Rights Campaign, also scratching the bumper. I don't know who these people are but it really makes no difference to me their political affiliation. It's theft and vandalism, period. I'll be making a new sign myself. Heavily Armed Liberal for Kerry (I'm not a one issue voter). Have a nice day and happy freeping!
My fifth set of Bush-Cheney signs were stolen a few days ago. Put out some solar lights, and signs have been safe since.
Interesting note: While walking today a few blocks from my house, I found an wooden crate at the curb with three mangled Bush-Cheney signs, waiting to be picked up as trash.
I walked into the police station and told them it was evidence. They told me that unless I knew those signs were stolen from my lawn or that I had seen them taken, they couldn't do anything.
The detective I had been working with wasn't in until Monday, so I went back and removed those mangled signs to the security of my house. Hopefully, they can get fingerprints.
I fear that some commie spawn will do something to my yard signs on Halloween night so I may pull mine up temporarily on Halloween to avoid the grief.
Add RED PEPPER to it next time so you can hear them scream!
Tape razor blades so they just slightly protrude from the edge of your sign. That will remind the little mutants that what they are doing is, well, wrong.
