(The most dangerous place in the world...between Moore and Ronstadt in the buffet line!)
Place marking.
Prayers for the safety of all in Charley's path.
I shudder at the thought of a Category 4.

No the dude MineralMan was responding was questioning whether this is even a hurricane at all. I think we can assume it's a hurricane. And better to hype, I say. It might disrupt lives but it also saves them.

I hope my sister doesn't lose her house on Sanibel Island.... If they're reporting 15 ft. storm surges, she probably did.

I was in Homestead during Andrew, and I tend to agree with him. This is a strong storm with a lot of water, but I have seen nothing to approach the strength of Andrew or a real bad hurricane. Believe me, they wouldn't be in that hotel talking about it if it was BAD!!

Have there been any reports of the damage Charley left behind in Cuba?

CBS now covering the storm. That's most unusual and speaks to the magnitude of this hurricane.

I'm another Sanibel aficionado, vacationed there several times. I hope to God it's not too bad. What a lovely place.
