Plame's Input Is Cited on Niger Mission (Joe Wilson lied about EVERYTHING)
Washington Compost ^ | 7/10/04 | Susan Schmidt

Former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, dispatched by the CIA in February 2002 to investigate reports that Iraq sought to reconstitute its nuclear weapons program with uranium from Africa, was specifically recommended for the mission by his wife, a CIA employee, contrary to what he has said publicly.

-------- snip! ----------

Wilson's assertions -- both about what he found in Niger and what the Bush administration did with the information -- were undermined yesterday in a bipartisan Senate intelligence committee report.

"I'm just amazed this was printed in the Washington Post.

It must of killed them to do it."

Look at the Byline. Sue Schmidt wrote many stories during the Clinton Administration that did not please them. She is a straight shooter.

No, it's more like the Saudi Royal Family.
Congress is the American version.
They keep getting re-elected to a very exclusive country club where they are all members.
Like Leahy said - "I've been here before this administration took over, and I'll be here after they are gone".
It's the mindset.
Now if we threw them out after every term and replaced them with random Independents, they'd be so disorganized, they wouldn't be able to focus on taking our rights away, but would actually be representing their constituency.

Since Tenet asked for volunteers to go to Niger, and Plame offered up her lounge lizard hubby, wonder if Tenet told Novak?

More like Clintonian...

The intel said they were trying to purchase it.
Wilson said that they hadn't bought it.

That doesn't mean they weren't actively trying to purchase.

Like I said, Clintonian.....

It looks very much like the actual slogan should not be "Bush Lied", but "Wilson Lied!" and the entire scam was a setup to fuel the anti-war effort and discredit President Bush. This isn't a smoking gun, it is the entire cannon!

I recommend everybody go over and read the article about and reflect on the perfidy which occurred here. Somebody needs to go to jail, and it's not Cheney!

This story in today's Washington Post seems to indicate that Joe Wilson is a monumental liar, publicity hound and partisan hack. Truly a must-read. Spread the word.

What do the Republicans take the initiative on? I saw Jay Rockefeller shooting his mouth off about the Bush Administration's culpability in intelligence weaknesses. Instead of blasting the 'rats for their stated goal of politicizing the Intelligence committee, the Republican leaders roll over and offer up the leaker of the 'rats evil strategy.

Could well be. Who knows at this point looks like everyone who know the answers to the questions is taking an exit as fast as they can.

Joe Wilson claiming he did not know who sent him and would not recognize them if he met them on the street is what removes all his credibility. Thus far I have not read anywhere anyone standing up and claiming responsibility for sending old Joe Wilson to Africa. Joe Wilson described a meeting where he claimed not to know anyone there in that meeting.

Joe Wilson has no story when those he met with are identified and come clean accepting responsibility for selecting and sending him to Africa. As far as I am concerned it could have been a sitting Senator's staff that met with Joe Wilson and gave him his marching orders.

What I don't understand is why the Lefties have to lie all the time. There are perfectly valid questions about the war in Iraq and its aftermath. Why not make them an issue? Why all the lies?

Joe Wilson even lied to the Wash Post:

"The report also said Wilson provided misleading information to The Washington Post last June."

Well, I missed the show, but will look for the video on cspan.org and watch it later today. This thread does need to be kept alive all weekend. Sure hope Fox picks up on the news.

Well, not really.

After he was fired (by the voters) from the Clinton administration, Wilson just manipulated the Washington insider-trading system to steal some more taxpayer money through HIS WIFE'S POSITION at the CIA (contrary to his claims of innocence and "hiding" her influence!), then used THAT TRIP to produce a corrupt, false, but highly influential report condemning Bush.

All very Innocent and above board, ya know.

(He's a liberal and they never lie.)

We do in fact have a good story to tell but we don't know how to tell a story good.

Serious question --

What are you doing to get the story out?

What do you recommend that "we" do to get the story out?

"It is time to hold the news media and politicians accountable."

And so how are you going to do that (besides your one vote)?
