Border Patrol Muzzles Agents Over Sweeps Story
Roger Hedgecock Show, AM600 San Diego, California ^ | July 9, 2004 | John Jorsett

Posted on 07/09/2004 4:37:43 PM PDT by John Jorsett

I've just been listening to Shaun Moran, an agent with the Border Patrol talk to Roger Hedgecock on his San Diego show (AM600, streaming audio available at the link). Moran says the Border Patrol has informed him and all agents that, contrary to policy up to now, there will be no more paid media appearances. Moran has been the official spokesman for the union representing Border Agents, and has made many paid appearances to inform the public in that capacity, most recently in regard to the illegal alien sweeps that the Border Patrol has recently made. Moran says he's sure this new policy is retaliation for the heat and embarrassment that's been generated as a result of these sweeps and the consequent banning of same by the DHS after the illegal alien advocacy groups started screaming about it. Moran says the public is entitled to the truth and that his union is going to make sure that they get it, despite this new policy. Moran says that, if necessary, his union will pay for his appearances (or Moran will do as he did today and make them while on vacation, before work, etc.) just to make sure the word gets out. If you'd like to register your objection to the banning of the sweeps and/or the attempts to stifle the dissemination of information regarding same, there's contact information for Asa Hutchingson's (Under Secretary for Border & Transportation Security) office at NBPC1613.org. I guess Christmas came a little late that year.

LOL. Thank you very much for looking that up. Unlike some here I have no problem admitting my mistakes nor will I pretend infallibility. I don't have a secretive agenda that warrants hiding my identity, either.

Sorry that I can't give you the physical $1.50 over the web for you to buy your local Sunday paper to check out the employment ads, but I can direct you to a website.

Monster.com

It would be more productive than whining on FR about some secretive and exclusive NWO conspiracy against you, IMO.

As you can see I wasn't deriding him for being out of work, I was deriding him due to his incessant whining.

"matching foreign workers with US employers when no American will take the job"
It's more like 'jobs people like you don't want Americans to do'.

It's more like 'jobs people like you don't want Americans to do'.

Who's the "you" in the reference and which Americans are exempt from work?

The term "Americans" covers a broad range of nationalities from Canadians to Chileans and I don't care who earns an honest living in agriculture as long as the work gets done at a cost that our US economy can tolerate.

Good article.

Besides the number of illegal aliens requiring services such as health care, emergency housing, food stamps, and other programs...

FYI, the greatest impact is on the cost of public education. As am example in California the annual per child cost of the public education system is a shade under $10K. The consequences of unregulated immigration now consumes about 1/3 of the public education budget which is the largest single program in the state budget exceeding $30B annually.

Actually, it is Joe Baca(D-Ca) who got the ball rolling, but you already knew that, but refused to acknowledge.

22 posted on 07/09/2004 6:37:34 PM PDT by Dane

And how come no criticism by the union president of Joe Baca(D-CA) who intitated the stops of the sweeps.

30 posted on 07/09/2004 6:46:02 PM PDT by Dane

With none of your union shrieks directed at the person who intitiated the stop of the sweeps, Joe Baca(D-Ca).

32 posted on 07/09/2004 6:52:32 PM PDT by Dane

Get back to me when the union prez has a bad word for Baca.

34 posted on 07/09/2004 6:54:23 PM PDT by Dane

They'll be throwing snowballs in hell before this union says a bad word about Baca(D-CA).

37 posted on 07/09/2004 7:00:39 PM PDT by Dane

Hey Joe, have a bad word to say about Baca(D-CA).

39 posted on 07/09/2004 7:06:09 PM PDT by Dane

...and not a peep is being heard from this union about Joe Baca(D-CA).

43 posted on 07/09/2004 7:13:22 PM PDT by Dane

And those oh so good union employess are not saying a peep about the person who initiated all this, Joe Baca(D-CA).

45 posted on 07/09/2004 7:20:52 PM PDT by Dane

...all I am doing is pointing out that Joe Baca(D-CA) is the one who got the ball rolling in stopping the sweeps and not a word of criticism about him from the border patrol union.

47 posted on 07/09/2004 7:31:27 PM PDT by Dane

Again why not a peep about Baca from the union.

55 posted on 07/09/2004 7:49:47 PM PDT by Dane

Why is the union supporting Baca with their silence of him initiating the stop of the sweeps.

64 posted on 07/09/2004 8:18:59 PM PDT by Dane

And the union bosses are giving a total blackout to any criticism of Baca.

68 posted on 07/09/2004 8:20:54 PM PDT by Dane

Uh, no just pointing out the fact that the border patrol union doesn't have a bad to say about the person, Baca(D-CA), who intitiated a stop to the sweeps.

72 posted on 07/09/2004 8:26:52 PM PDT by Dane

And as is par for the course for you Joe, you will never say a cross word about Baca(D-CA).

73 posted on 07/09/2004 8:28:37 PM PDT by Dane

Get back to me when the border patrol spokesman, Shaun Moran, has a cross word to say in public about Rep. Baca(D-CA)....

Why do you feel the need to repeat the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again?

Oh yes, public education. I don't know how that slipped my mind. All that money that goes into it, and kids come out illiterate. Mexico has free education right through college, don't know about other Latin American countries though. It really galls me that illegals will get a better deal for community college than my kids will.

Because the rabid Hutchinson haters(not accusing you) refuse to acknowledge Rep. Joe Baca's(D-CA) role.

Goebbeles stated that if your tell a lie long enough, people will believe it.

I am taking a reverse Goebbel's strategy, where I am telling the truth(Baca being a major catalyst in stopping the sweeps) and getting attacked by those on FR who wish for others not to know the whole truth.

Please answer post# 97.

Asa Hutchinson is a good person and has the best interest of this country at heart, but has to deal with such elected officials such as Baca, Feinstein, and Boxer.

I can unsderstand the position he is in, while some on FR, blame him and not the elected officials of their home state causing the controversy.

The 'you' quite simply refers to you. No one is exempt from work except the corporate conservatives who are trying to turn this country into a plantation.

In America, American means American, but your statement reveals a lot about your ideology. The price of labor is determined by supply and demand, which normally conservatives believe in. The labor supply siders of course believe in large supplies of labor to drive down wages regardless of what damage it does to working Americans; that's Americans as in USA in case you got confused again.

Start turning some of these politicians out of office and then only will they get the message that we're fed up.

Good idea....but don't go getting unilateral on us. Make sure that Democrats are turned out as well as Republicans. However, don't count on the Liberal voters to join the effort.

Since I don't vore for Dems I have no control over that part of your equation. The part that I do have I will. If I follow your analogy here then we will never resolve the problem of wholesale invasion across our southern border.

I'm so fed up that I pledge that if any politician that votes for any form of amenesty and I am eligible to vote for in future elections I will work against him/her to get them tossed from office. Since these sleaze balls are no longer interested in protecting this nation and my family then they no longer deserve me and my familys support.

I'm no longer interested in compromising any more principles with RINO Republicans.

Your scenario will further enable Liberals and make the problem a lot worse....and make you a lot angrier. Chill out and don't become part of the problem. If the GOP loses, Democrats win. Why complicate the matter?

I understand your point but I'm one of those old fashioned long time conservatives who has finally had his fill of mush mouth spineless Republicans selling me and the country out for money, votes or whatever they trade for. I've been asked to stay the course with the Republican party since they started moving to the left (some call it the center).

I swallowed my pride and principles and played along and voted the Republican ticket when I knew I shouldn't because the only difference I could see between those I voted for and the ones on the other side had to do with that R or D designation after their name.

Well, I'm finally through playing along just to get along. The party just keeps going even further left with each passing election cycle. In my view the party is trying its best to morph the Democrats. The RNC is bringing all of this on itself so don't blame those of us on the right who are finally getting their fill of ever more liberalism within the Republican party.

I understand your point...

Good, so don't do anything that will give the Democrats control of any part of government. They used to be Liberals...now they're Socialists. Keep that in mind.

...but I'm one of those old fashioned long time conservatives who has finally had his fill...

If the GOP loses, the Socialists win, and if you help the Socialists win, then you are part of the problem, and we don't need any more problems. In '92, disgruntled Conservatives got mad at Bush 41 and unintentionally helped the Liberals to elect the Clintons. Now we have Kerry Conservatives threatening to do the same thing. Are you one of them?

In America, American means American,

Only to modestly educated provincials.

Try this for confirmation ...

Step off the plane at Galeon or Ezeiza and announce to the customs authorities that you're an "American". Make it clear to those parochial Neanderthals that they need not bother checking your passport because you're an "American". Remind them that you're an "American" at least three times and advise them that they can kiss your lily white ass if they've got a problem with that.

So, I guess your point is that anyone from this continent is eligible for any job produced within our borders because America is so much more than a country, it's an entire continent! Is this your own personal compromise to global wage arbitrage or do you just like mixing poetry and politics?

The point was, which now seems like ages ago, that a society/government that doesn't control its boarders can't maintain its sovereignty and then ceases to exist.

The US was, until the great depression, a country full of enthusiasm, wild hope, remarkable productivity, and an arrogance born of accomplishment. When FDR and his kindred spirits began their quest to apply 70 years of a liberal and enlightened guidance designed to avoid the unavoidable we are becoming a hollow man.

It seems that you are part of the problem. Quit being an apologist for all that is wrong with the GOP and work to clean house of the many spinless two-faced RINO's that have taken root in the Republican party and refuse to represent the views of the base of the party before it is too late.

You can also can that pitiful excuse to keep voting for RINO's. I've been hearing that tired worn out excuse for far too long now. I see what it has done to the party. The more we put the RINO-R in power the worse the situation gets!
