I'd like to set off a string of firecrackers in that theater just to watch those sick bastards crap themselves.

Above all else, we must be careful about letting stuff like this getting us down and making us despair. It seems so easy these days to look at some of the idiocity from the world around us and say, "Can we really win?" That's exactly what idiots like the maker of this play want. As much as I hate to say it, it seems that the time is coming where it could very well be the majority of the world vs. us, at least in a geopolitical sense. We cannot forget that, even if we are in the minority, truth and correctness does not depend on numbers. America was founded on freedom, while the rest of the world embraces socialism. America was violently attacked on 9/11... damn the rest of the world if they want to laugh at us for our time of difficulty! Ultimately, when it comes down to it, we don't need them to like us if they think like that.

Maybe I'm right, or maybe I've had a little too much whiskey. Not quite sure which is the case yet.

no worse than the Liberals in your own fair country who'd also revel in the excuse to bash your foreign policy when they can, even going as far as to say that America 'had it coming' as far as 9/11 goes

Aint that the truth.

Sadly not. They're all of places around the area I live in though, which is the Peak District of Derbyshire, England.

The site they come from is here: Peak District Photographs

Can anyone believe that a British audience would sit and watch such filth and be laughing all the way through?

No, actually I can't believe it. I haven't come across any British people who have laughed at TV footage of the 9/11 attacks or made jokes about them.

The murder of 3000 innocent civilians, many of them British, seems to be so very funny to some.

No, I think the author of this piece is inventing facts to provoke hatred of the audience of this play and those that produced it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not defending this play and I don't like the superior anti-American attitude that the idiots who made it subscribe to, but if you read Charles Spencer's original review of the play he never says that the audience laughed at the footage of the 9/11 attacks. In fact, he says that the play charts 'in vaudeville form what has happened since the fall of the Twin Towers - most notably the war on terrorism and the invasion of Iraq'. In other words, the TV footage of 9/11 is used as a prologue and the play itself is a leftist critique of the decisions that were taken in the WOT, in the form of a comical satire with songs and dances which uses Bush and Blair as the central characters. Apparently, they actually sing a song called 'We're sending you a cluster bomb from Jesus'.

So I hope that American Thinker readers understand why I was not willing to go and see this sicko play first-hand.

Hmm, how can he present first hand testimony of the reaction of the audience to the 9/11 footage if he didn't actually attend the play?

I thank Mr. Charles Spencer and the Daily Telegraph for bringing this to our attention, and for having to sit through the darkest depths of prejudice against the new Jews - Americans.

Given that Charles Spencer - the man whose article was used as the sole source by the author of this piece - never said that the audience were 'laughing all the way through' or that they laughed at the 9/11 attack footage, then I'm having a hard time believing that they did that based upon the unsubstantiated word of someone who never attended this play. I'm sure that many of the people who went to this play are Bush-hating left/liberal scumbags, but trying to say that they also laughed at the 9/11 atrocities footage when there's absolutely no evidence of that doesn't make our position any better.

Its interesting how many people on this thread have accepted the author's clearly factually flawed statement and on the basis of the anti-Americanism of an unknown section of this lousy play's audience, have then proceeded to attack the entire population of Britain. Its disturbing how some here have made sweeping generalisations about the morality and loyalty of America's closest and most influential ally in the war on terror. The people who made this play are lefty scumbags and the people who enjoyed it are likewise. Don't think that the majority of the British people agree with the juvenile opinions and prejudices of these idiots. All real Britons supported the USA 100% after the 9/11 attacks and were happy to see the Taliban regime bite the dust.

I follow your logic and it appears very sound.

Except for the part of real Britons.

It's kind of hard to describe what a "real" Briton is.

Based on the tone of your reply, I sense that you are British, would I be correct?

Perhaps we are all victims of leftist media. Here in the US we are treated to scenes of British citizens routinely denouncing Bush (as well as Tony Blair) and stories documenting the rise in anti-American sentiment as the result of the Iraq War.

We have know the British citizens to be staunch allies for many, many years. However, there is a wedge being driven between our two countries by both the leftist dominated EU and the leftist dominated British and American press.

Having never seen this wretched "play" and having nothing else to go by but the reports we have seen about it, can you truly hold us responsible for being a bit angry? These are stressful times we are in and the constant Bush and America bashing we have experienced makes us a wee bit sensitive. We don't need to get our feathers ruffled at one another if we are the victims of British media bias. Like many in Britain who don't know our press or our reporters, we don't know yours that well, either.

So, if the report is more creative fiction than reliable journalism, please don't take it personally. These days we're tired of being beaten up and we're liable to lash out when we think we are being treated unfairly.

"The people who made this play are lefty scumbags and the people who enjoyed it are likewise."

That was assumed from the start. As noted, there is the same sort of rabid,"progressive theatre" elsewhere. I was in a similarly sickening one in Sandinista Nicaragua - government sponsored; there assuredly were no alternative productions.

Not really? Is this your typical Brit, or is it your Muslim Brit?

Really? What is the matter with these people? Is it just socialism? Our own country is trying hard to go to socialism under the banner of democrats, and I suppose some of them have the same kind of attitude. I am really surprised to hear this.

I was pleased to read your post. I too find it hard to understand how quickly some Freepers attack the whole of Britain because of a single story, especially after the support Blair and his predecessors have shown for years in the struggle against Saddam and militant Islam. There's no real chance of that support stopping whoever wins the next UK election.

Would like to hear your thoughts on this: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1109245/posts
