Roger Stone, the longtime Republican dirty-tricks operative who led the mob that shut down the Miami-Dade County recount WRONG. The Democratic elections officials in Miami-Dade county tried to move the recount process behind closed doors, away from public scrutiny. Given the magical gain of several hundred votes for Algore in West Palm Beach County, many Republicans were correctly concerned that the Miami-Dade Dems were going to pull something similar without the public being able to keep an eye on things.
So many Republicans showed up to protest, demanding to be allowed in to observe in order to prevent Democratic chicanery. The Miami-Dade officials then gave up on whatever they were going to try to pull, and instead played victim for the benefit of a Democratic-leaning media in the hopes that public opinion would turn in their favor and allow them to steal votes for Gore. It didn't work. And thank God for people like Roger Stone and the other Republicans down there who likely prevented Algore's minions from stealing the election.

''longtime Republican dirty-tricks operative who led the mob that shut down the Miami-Dade County recount..'' What a hoot! Republican Mob...bwaahahaha! Anyway Wayne you commie maggot, they didn't 'shut down' anything.
What they DID do, was stop the ILLEGAL closed door ballot 'counting' that the demoncRATS attempted to pull off, by pounding on the door and and as I recall alerting the media to this illegal action.

I'm sure many of the FReepers who were there that day would be surprised to know that they were being "led" by this guy.

This is definitely a preemptive shot across Sharpton's bow, is it not? And his response is already in:
Sharpton denounced the Voice's inquiries as "phony liberal paternalism," insisting that he'd "talk to anyone I want" and likening his use of Stone to Bill Clinton's reliance on pollster Dick Morris, saying he was "sick of these racist double standards."

Roger Stone, the longtime Republican dirty-tricks operative who led the mob that shut down the Miami-Dade County recount and helped make George W. Bush president in 2000, is financing, staffing, and orchestrating the presidential campaign of Reverend Al Sharpton. I thought that it was that eeeeevil Tom DeLay who responsible for that alleged "mob" -- at least, that's what all the libs claimed at the time. And I can't believe the author didn't mention that Stone was caught advertising himself in a swingers' magazine!

You used the subtitle, and not the original title of the story. I check twice prior to entering all the information and then then again just prior to posting, onlt to have my properly titled thread yanked.
