After tracking Republican responses to President Donald Trump’s racist tweets over the last couple of days, we can say this: Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, offered one of the strongest condemnations of anyone in his party. But that’s mostly a function of the tepidness of the party’s broader response. And it’s hardly the standard Romney has set for himself. Romney offered a couple responses Monday to Trump’s tweets urging nonwhite congresswomen to “go back” to their countries, both impromptu and in a prepared statement. He said Trump’s sentiment was “destructive, was demeaning, was disunifying and frankly was very wrong.” He added that, “People can disagree over politics and policy, but telling American citizens to go back to where they came from is over the line.” But in each response, Romney stopped short of calling Trump’s tweets racist. Asked by a reporter whether it was racist, Romney said, “That’s all I’ve got,” and walked away.

...is perhaps a bit of scripture Senator Romney might wish to contemplate if he has any desire to remain relevant while a member of the Republican Party. Time to go all in Mr. Mitt and rise above the swamp. If the present attitude continues you are going to have to play the Amash game and unfortunately you are late to that party. So how about being on the President’s side for a change.

Ho-hum. I don’t recall the President ever making a racist tweet. So any article that begins with that premise is DOA.
So I see, in the media, that “Trump’s racist tweets” has become the talking point - presented as a given that his tweets were “racist.” The fact that they were not is irrelevant.
The media is behind all of the unrest in this country. They are clearly colluding with each other to destroy our President and, by this, have gone so far over the line that they simply don’t mind presenting a lie as a fact if it looks like it will accomplish their goals. There needs to be some major push-back (pulling their licenses, perhaps?) because not watching them isn’t enough.
Their misbehavior has irreparably damaged our country.
I’m so glad Obama won his second term. Mutt doesn’t deserve to breath good air no less be President of the U.S. If he had won we wouldn’t have known the difference between the left and right.

So many articles refer to “Trump’s racist tweets” as if it is understood the comments were indeed racist. I reject this premise, therefore am unable to read the article as they open with that nonsense.
