Articles of Impeachment Against Trump Coming Over Charlottesville

Articles Of Impeachment Brought For Third Time Against Republican Donald Trump

Polls have now shown a majority of Americans thought the response to the Charlottesville domestic terror attack by Republican Donald Trump was incredibly weak. Despite that reality, Trump has now tripled down on his affinity for the traitorous past of the Confederacy with another early morning Tweet storm in support of the statues representing that ugly history. Now, it appears one Democrat has had enough of the dog whistles and will introduce articles of impeachment against Trump over his continued olive branches to white supremacists.

Democrat Steve Cohen of Tennessee posted a statement on Twitter that he will introduce articles of impeachment today against Trump for his response to the Charlottesville attack. The statement specifically pointed to Trump’s responses to the terror attack and flatly stated:

I believe the President should be impeached and removed from office. Instead of unequivocally condemning hateful actions by neo-Nazis, white nationalists and Klansmen following a national tragedy, the President said ‘there were very fine people on both sides.’ There are no good Nazis. There are no good Klansmen. Cohen goes on to describe the comparisons he saw between Charlottesville and disgusting events of the past, like “Kristallnacht in 1938 in Nazi Germany”. He then hammers Trump for his lack of morality in this situation and, in Cohen’s opinion, his clear unwillingness to forcefully denounce violent white supremacists.

President Trump has failed the presidential test of moral leadership. No moral president would ever shy away from outright condemning hate, intolerance and bigotry. No moral president would ever question the values of Americans protesting in opposition of such actions, one of whom was murdered by one of the white nationalists…President Trump has shown time and time again that he lacks the ethical and moral rectitude to be President of the United States. Not only has he potentially obstructed justice and potentially violated the Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause, but he has also shown that he is incapable or unwilling to protect Americans from enemies, foreign and domestic. Neo-Nazis and the KKK are domestic terrorists. If the President can’t recognize the difference between these domestic terrorists and the people who oppose their anti-American attitudes, then he cannot defend us.

Much like the other articles of impeachment that have been brought against Donald Trump in his brief time in office, this will likely go nowhere in the Republican controlled House. But it’s clear folks are getting tired of the dog whistles and Trump’s inability to attack hate in the same way he attacks celebrities and morning talk show hosts. Once again, Trump’s mouth has put him in hot water.

the President said ‘there were very fine people on both sides.’ There are no good Nazis. There are no good Klansmen. Cohen goes on...

And this pompous ass has absolute proof that every person protesting the removal of a statute was a KKK member or a Nazi of some variety? And that's just one gaping hole in his "reasoning".

I've never seen so many pols so deranged and making such complete fools of themselves.

Democrat Steve Cohen actually believes that, there is some amendment to the constitution that says that, “speaking the truth” is a high crime and an impeachable offense.

Domestic terrorism? EL OH EL. What a joke. Is that how they phrased the question?
The majority of Americans do not support removing statues either.

Are those black guys faces covered? They’re standing there with weapons and their faces covered up and they’re supposed to be the good guys?

And the idiot looking white guys are the bad guys?

This whole thing is absolutely nuts. No matter what happened, no matter what Trump said or when he said it they were set to tear him to shreds.

I really think now Trumps’ enemies approach is to just become such a pain in the ass, that Trump just finally says, “F___ it, I’m outta here.”

And the fact that the folks in the GOP know this, and aren’t doing anything to show they have Trump’s back, clearly shows they are in on it.

“How dare Trump condemn ALL “hate bigotry and violence” rather than just some.”

To them its the moral equivalent of that ugly saying “ALL Lives Matter”

Who is doing the polling on this crapfest?

Ask the 65 million Trump voters.. ask the ones who brought him....

I am so sick of all this!!! It does no good to cater to any of them.. just give them hell..

Stop giving press any time... just go directly to the people every day or once a week.. and tell us what you’ve accomplished and what your plans are.. Fox will air you.. That way it wont be twisted a hundred ways.. and let the tweets go or at least dont do just the tweets.. you can say so much more in a short speech to the people!

Maybe, Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tennessee and his left wing mediot friends can be charged with acts of Seditious conspiracy against President Trump!:

18 U.S. Code § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy US Code

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 808; July 24, 1956, ch. 678, § 1, 70 Stat. 623; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(N), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2148.)

I agree. He had a golden opportunity to use this heinous act to turn it into a fundraising effort and then go golfing and sailing with Hollywood and tech moguls.

Jolly good!

As though Obama responded any faster to any incident.

“We impeach this president because he didn’t make a statement fast enough!”

That’s hardly a high crime or misdemeanor, but doing so would be a trigger to CWII!

The two presidents who were impeached in the House were not convicted in the Senate.

President Trump said there were people who were there to simply protest taking down the Statue that had nothing to do with the Neo Nazis and the others.

As I’ve said before, the idea that just being there makes you a Nazi is like saying that Al Gore is a Racist Segregationist because he lived in the same house as his Racist Segregationist Father.

Same goes for anyone who served with Robert Byrd in the Senate. It’s like a Leper Colony.
