‘I mean, this is not hard’
The Democratic mayor of Charlottesville, Va., Michael Signer, is pinning blame directly on President Trump for the white nationalist protest and related violence that occurred in his city this weekend.
The blame for these events, he said, falls "right at the doorstep of the White House and the people around the president."
On Sunday he appeared on CNN's State of the Union and accused Trump of intentionally courting white nationalists. Here's a transcript:
TAPPER: You said you place blame for these terrifying events -- quote -- "right at the doorstep of the White House and the people around the president" -- unquote.
That is a -- that is a very strong charge to level. Why do you think the president himself bears responsibility?
SIGNER: Well, look at the campaign he ran. I mean, look at the intentional courting, both on the one hand of all these white supremacists, white nationalists, a group like that, anti-Semitic groups, and then look on the other hand the repeated failure to step up, condemn, denounce, silence, you know, put to bed all those different efforts, just like we saw yesterday.
I mean, this is not hard. There's -- you know, there's two words that need to be said over and over again, domestic terrorism and white supremacy. That is exactly what we saw on display this weekend.
And we just aren't seeing leadership from the White House. We certainly are going to see leadership from cities like Charlottesville, from mayors, from leaders all around the country left and right.
Republicans and Democrats, if there is an issue that can unite this country, that this can be a turning point for this democracy, I think it just happened right now this weekend in Charlottesville.
You know, I -- to be honest, it doesn't matter much to me whether -- he's already on the sidelines, I think, of so many issues. But the country is going to move ahead. This will be a turning point for the country to overcome this stuff, just like we have overcome these challenges in our past. And I think it's happening right now, as we speak.

And how about the last 8 years where obama blamed whites, Christians, police for lacks attacking and killing, and even admitting the police acted stupidly but has not got all the facts in the same speech.
THAT is still a boneheaded move that has not been walked back.

The white nationalists were set up by Punk McAuliffe and the city of Charlottesville.
This is the problem I am arguing about on other similar threads. The people making these protests do not represent Trump supporters, definitely do not represent Trump. But, unfortunately, it is all too easy to associate the two. Worse, like here on FR, where there are people defending the Confederate flag and it’s violent history against Americans, it only confirms what the mayor of Charlottesville and other people claim. The reality is that you cannot separate the violent history of the confederate flag and what it stands for, both today and yesterday, from the cultural values of the South. Cherish your culture and history, but put the flag away please. Do not fly it anymore than one would fly the Nazi or Islamic flag.
BA from Princeton, PhD from Bezerkly, JD from UVA, Podesta-Obama apostle, self-described “activist,” and the driving force behind the removal of Confederate symbols in Charlottesville. He and Clinton Toilet Brush McAuliffe are the ones to blame for the violence.
Add occupy protests too which resulted in violence.
The left creates all these hate groups while shouting love, and tolerance. Finally today more and more are seeing what these hateful, intolerant bigots are really like.
Oh and was his campaign which forced a man to kill republicans at a park, or was that Clintons campaign, or obama last 8 years.
There were people touting nazi flags there. Trump has Jews in his family.
The whole Charlottesville thing was a put up job, very likely by Soros who has finally figured out how to play both ends, and more the right against the left, to the effect that Trump supporters will heretofore be viewed as disaffected nazis, klansman, and other ultra-rightest jerks.
Those flags even still had the creases as if they’d just been unpacked.
We’ve been played, and it’s going to be really hard to earn back whatever credibility has been stolen from us.
Look for this kind of stuff to be the new normal.

It was supposed to be: HRC/Kaine win, McCauliffe takes Kaine’s senate seat, mayor runs for McC’s gov seat. That all went to hell. Now it’s McC & Kamala Harris 2020 frontrunners, but Harris takes VP. This false flag gone BENGHAZI-level wrong just messed up some big RAT plans.
While I have no doubt that you've experienced that, I think it's more important to get more whites voting against the Dems/Libs/People of Color coalition. After all, they are explicitly anti-White. No white person should be supporting them.
Trump's victory came because he and his strategists appealed to working class whites. In doing so they ignored years of Cuckservative Orthodoxy that the way to win big elections in the USA is for the GOP to pander to P.o.C.'s and adopt anti-White positions.
Interesting point. Are all violence groups in the US traced back to Democrats? KKK, BLM, La Raza, etc. I cannot thing of a single violent Republican-inspired group.

Disagree vehemently. Let them call us whatever they will. If they want us to be “racist”, fine, “If this be Racism, make the most of it”. We simply have to do what has to be done. If we can be deterred by calling us names just how serious are we?
Don’t get me wrong. My entire life I have detested the “gas chambers”. My uncle was a prison guard at Nuremberg and personally hanged real Nazis. Nevertheless, if I have to put an swastika armband on to get done what needs to be done I will.
