Krishnamoorthi Calls On WH Counsel To Publicly Disclose All Pardons Issued By President Trump
Congressman Krishnamoorthi's Congressional Website ^ | July 21, 2017 | Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi today wrote to White House Counsel Donald F. McGahn, calling on him to publicly disclose all pardons issued by President Trump. Rep. Krishnamoorthi's letter comes in response to the Washington Post’s report that President Trump and his legal team have explored his power to pardon as a means of disrupting Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. The signed letter is available here and the text follows:

July 21, 2017

The Honorable Donald F. McGahn, II

Counsel to the President

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Washington, DC 20006

Dear Mr. McGahn:

It was reported on July 20, 2017, that President Trump has asked his legal team about the extent of his pardon powers: whether they extend to White House aides, family members, or even the President himself.

While most pardons are handled by the Office of the Pardon Attorney, the President still retains the right to issue pardons to any person, at any time, for any cause. The Office of the Pardon Attorney makes their documents available, but there is no guarantee that all pardons issued by the President will be made public. The President can grant pardons after an individual has been incarcerated, before the sentence is imposed, or – as President Ford’s pardon of President Nixon confirms – before a charge is brought.

The power of the pardon extends far beyond the individual who receives it. An individual with a secret pardon has a pre-emptive grant of immunity from prosecution and is under no obligation to make that fact public until charges are brought. This person would be unlikely to cooperate with an ongoing investigation or testify against co-conspirators in exchange for leniency.

Special Prosecutor Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election is a matter of utmost importance to the health of our Republic. Americans deserve to know the full extent of this meddling and the harm it caused. Those who aided and abetted it must be brought to justice. Pre-emptive pardons will only serve to further obfuscate the truth behind a fog of deceit.

I respectfully ask that you commit to making public all pardons issued by the President. Robert Mueller’s team – and all Americans – need to know who will be cooperating with the ongoing investigation

Sincerely,

Raja Krishnamoorthi

Member of Congress

I though presidents don’t issue pardons until way later?

More fishing trips I see. Howabout looking back at all the Pardons given out by the O’muzzie and how the crime rate went up in every city nationwide and some murders by those same cons that were pardoned.

The incredible corruption of the leftists and their intentional blindness to the important things in society is mind boggling. They clearly crave political power at all costs so they can “transform” America into their hellhole version. No wonder talk of civil war is so common.

'Gee Pat, I'd like to buy a vowel but I don't think I have enough money to cover it.'

Secret pardons would explain Lerner, Rice, and Koskinen.

I wondered if Hillary received a secret pardon. They should not exist but it seemed like the only way to explain her getting away with so many crimes.

“Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”

Guess not, secret pardon might influence a prosecutor to think twice.

They are limited by the same fact that limited Yamamoto.

There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

Thanks be to God for the wisdom of the founders when they gave us the 2nd amendment!

I think this is a great idea!

Put out a press release with 3 major columns and each major column with four sub columns

One Major Column for each of Presidents Trump, Obama and Clinton. The sub columns being date of pardon, Name of person pardoned, Past convictions/offenses of pardoned person, name of sponsor or group “originally requesting pardon.”

Yes lets make this a Political issue!

That pattern is for political protection. Pardons can be issued any time, and by nature, they are ALL publicly disclosed. There is no such thing as a "secret pardon."

Special Prosecutor Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election is a matter of utmost importance to the health of our Republic.

So Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi evidently believes that the Fourth Amendment is garbage, and that kangaroo courts are the order of the day.

What goes around comes around.

I wonder what kinds of criminal behavior would be found if the Spanish Inquisition were to focus on Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi?

There is at least as much evidence of crimes committed by Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi as there is evidence that President Trump conspired with Russia to hack the election.

Americans deserve to know the full extent of the criminal behavior of Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, and those who aided and abetted his criminal acts must be brought to justice.

I respectfully ask that a special prosecutor be appointed to investigate the crimes of Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi. The American people deserve no less than a full investigation of the Congressman's crimes, and the Congressman must be made to accept full responsibility for his actions.
