Mark my words – the wind is turning. Donald and Melania Trump are leaders – persistent, consistent, from the heart. Some expected this, many did not. But underestimating these two would be a profound mistake.
The first clear turn signal was the Inauguration speech. It was concise, incisive, blunt and uncompromising. No more blah-blah and calculated pampering, national self-derision or happy talk for the sake of media approval. No more pretending personal differences and sincere opinions were bad, individual character and national sacrifice irrelevant, honor and history no longer material.
To those who wished America would again be proud of who we are, the speech affirmed that long tunnels do end and light does exist, even after years of economic and moral malaise, even with security threats mounting and international respect declining. The future is what we make it; it should be an extension of our proud past, not a departure from it.
Then came the disciplined and bipartisan State of the Union speech. Those clad in white on the Left, who dared not clap or stand, could barely believe their ears. The president was compelling, honest, and inclusive. He spoke to all Americans, not just supporters. He validated them, offered answers, summoned higher angels. The Left was confused.
Next came the Middle East Peace speech – direct and sincere and hopeful that leaders, Shia, Sunni, Jewish and Christian, might lay down swords for a moment, and imagine what might be possible. Take a look at what those leaders said after that speech. Not in decades had such hope been entertained. America’s pledge to lead is believed. It should be.....

I don’t see Trump doing 8 years. I see him doing 4 and then handing the reins to Pence. In 4 years America will be great again to a point where Reagan would be impressed.
Conservatives are stupid people. We all know that.Even if they/you/we went to good schools they/you/we are so dense that the brainwashing didn’t take. Really smart people know that it is not worth the expenditure of brain power to try to think for yourselves. Stupid conservatives never learned that lesson.

“America” is not underestimating anyone. The elitists at the major news outlets and a sizable portion of academia is but that is because they reflexively believe anyone who disagrees with them is both intellectually and morally wanting. They see themselves as far above the unwashed masses which elected both Reagan and Trump.
Not many of them can even speak proper english.
I take exception to referring to Melania as a leader here. She is a beautiful woman, she has made some good speeches, and I admit to clicking on stories about her fashion choices. But I did not vote for her to lead my country; I voted for her husband.
But, what does President Trump think of Melania?

It was disorienting and while the lineman tried to regain his balance and his setting, Jones had already blown past him on the way to the opposing quarterback.
This is what Trump continues to do with the media, the Democrats and his critics. His tweets and his off-the-cuff comments are meant to be head slaps that stun the opposition and set them off balance. Once the opposition has recovered, they would realize that Trump has just gone past them and got his agenda done while they are just left stunned and looking foolish.
Just watch him in action. In circumstance after circumstance for the past two years, he head slaps opponents, particularly the media, and moves on through. Don't pay attention to what he SAYS - which is entertaining enough - watch what he DOES and what he's done is put much of his agenda in place in the first six months.
Yes, ObamaCare and The Wall are still ahead and so is a huge tax cut but he'll get them done.

I think that’s a possibility. He will have gotten us pretty much back on track, and at his age, he’ll deserve a rest and do whatever he wants.
