Ballot recount on hold after objection filed by Republican Party (Michigan)

County clerks across the state were preparing to start a recount on Friday of the ballots casted in Michigan for the President of the United States. But the count may wait to begin until Tuesday, if it happens at all.

After a recount request was filed by Green Party candidate Jill Stein on Wednesday, representatives of the campaign for President-Elect Donald Trump filed an objection to the recount Thursday afternoon, according to a press release from the Michigan Secretary of State office.

Michigan Republican Party spokesperson Sarah Anderson confirmed that the party planned to file an objection to the recount that day, around 1 p.m.

The largest counties, like Oakland and Ingham counties, were expected to start on Friday, but now the objection must be reviewed by the State Board of Canvassers at 9:30 a.m. according to Secretary of State spokesperson Fred Woodhams.

"They will hear the objection, if they agree, then the recount won't go forward. If they deny it, then there would have to be two business days that elapse. It would be on hold at least until Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday. That assumes there's no court action in between," Woodhams said.

Emmet County Clerk Juli Wallin said she had heard yesterday that Emmet and Charlevoix County could potentially start their recount on Dec. 10. But after the challenge was filed, Wallin said it's possible the counties won't start a recount until Dec. 12 or 13.

"This pushes us all backwards," Wallin said, "We might not get to start until Dec. 12 or Dec. 13."

On January 21st he should have the IRS and Justice Department investigate the entire Clinton machine as well as Media Matters and every 501c3 where Soros is on the board.

Absolutely correct. These leftist organizations should be investigated because the people in this country have a right to expect the full protection of the law at all levels of government. These political gangsters must be brought to justice before they can do any more damage to our country.

Since the breaking news is that there will be no recount in PA, Trump should drop his objections in MI and WI.

He is guaranteed the win with the PA result, and if he can bankrupt Jill in MI and WI we will all be better off. If they stop the recount, she gets the unspent money back in those states.

He should fight them at every turn. I don't see any reason to let Hillary get any closer.

It’s over!!!!

She's not done with Pennsylvania. She's only changed strategies. She's going to federal court now,

This won't be over until noon on Inauguration Day.

Recounts need to be conducted in Nevada, New Hampshire, and Minnesota.
