As the first one-on-one presidential debate between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump nears, Trump has surged in the polls and the candidates are now in a dead heat.
A new poll from Bloomberg shows Trump leading his Democratic rival by 2 points.
Other polls show Clinton still holding the lead, though not by much. Clinton leads Trump by just 1.5 points, according to a Real Clear Politics poll average, down from 2.4 points a day ago. As recently as last month, this spread was considerably wider, with Clinton leading Trump by as much as 7.6 points.
FiveThirtyEight's forecast pegs Trump's chance of winning at 51.9 percent to Clinton's 48.1 percent.
He needs to keep his temper in gear. That’s all and he wins.
Hillary is going to be angry and scared tonight. Fun to watch.
I’m guessing large numbers of Republicans are ‘coming home’ and saying they’ll vote for Trump. He had a huge upside with Republicans who initially said they wouldn’t support him.
I normally don’t answer the phone if I don’t know who is calling. But tonight and tomorrow I am suspending that practice just in case I receive a call for my opinion. I hope the rest of you do that as well.
You have to admit that this is fun!!
The more pressure, all the better to trigger an episode on national tv.....
I hope we get her best "deer in the headlights" pose this evening.
“The more pressure, all the better to trigger an episode on national tv.....”
Speaking to that, I wonder if she has any known ‘buttons’ that can be pushed to set her off. If there are, you can be sure the Trump campaign is well aware of them.
Only question is whether or not they’ll be utilized. Might not matter anyway, as the Queen may take care of it herself.
All Trump has to do tonight is stay calm. No nasty facial expressions. No looking at his watch. (In fact, don’t even wear a watch.) Mr. Trump, just keep looking at your beautiful family. Smile periodically and answer the moderator’s questions. Be calm and resolute.
She is going to try to get under his skin. At this point, that’s all she’s got.
<< Im guessing large numbers of Republicans are coming home and saying theyll vote for Trump. He had a huge upside with Republicans who initially said they wouldnt support him. >>
This is definitely true in Virginia. One example is a conservative former #neverTrumper Congressman, Morgan Griffith, spoke at the Trump Roanoke rally on Saturday. Griffith gave a rousing endorsement to a cheering crowd.
Especially with the most recent polling.
Oh, she'll try to be controlled & affable, but in the end she will revert to simply being herself - Shrillary.
<< Mr. Trump, just keep looking at your beautiful family. Smile periodically and answer the moderators questions. Be calm and resolute.>>
Winning strategy.
When the She-devil gets mad she likes to throw stuff....
I vote for continuing to feed her the rope of her own demise

Someone termed it, “America’s ex-wife” Sad, but true.
Went to 538 page and that’s not what it shows.
Yes. And on the other side, high pressure big deals are Trumps forte.
Yep. We need to all do her a big favor: send her into retirement to spend time with her family.
(to which the family responds: NO, no - don’t send her home to spend more time with us - arghhh!!!)
:D
“She is going to try to get under his skin. At this point, thats all shes got.”
She will be hard pressed to get under HIS skin without also getting under the VIEWER’s skin! One of her great weaknesses is that she is a bitter, hate-filled old woman who screeches at people. That is a tough sale under the best of circumstances!
Hillary has never come thru in a tight spot, outside of a democrat primary. Her “Stand By My Man” act sold in 1992, but it is pretty stale now.
I don’t spend much time agreeing with sardines, but you got this one right. Ooh-RAH!
