In the polls Hillary and her team believes, she is winning by a lot. That’s sufficient for them to decide to run out the clock, and I like that strategy.
Hillary’s staff knows that she is exceptionally unlikable, so hiding in the dark appeals to them, but I like it for a different reason. The good part is it prevents her from trying other strategies, since she thinks she doesn’t need to take any risks. If her lead is an illusion, that means she’s accepting a losing status quo.
Bingo. Hillary is a poor campaigner for large crowds. They tried small venues; these were so poorly attended, with optics so bad, that they had to photoshop crowds into the pics. Given this and their fear of a “health” incident, the campaign decided to focus on raising money for attack ads to drive up Trump’s negatives. She has no positives.

At this point in time the Democrats are screwed. Most states have a cutoff date by which all names must be ready for the fall ballots. If Hillary drops out they will have to run a write in candidate in many states.

This is sort of a pre-trial debate. Remember in 2008, 0bama and McCain went to that megachurch in CA, and each was questioned separately for 30 minutes or so. This is where 0bama came up with his famous “above my pay-grade” comment abortion.
I think this forum will be a good one for Trump. He’s popular with the military and veterans, and is good with national security, defense and veterans issues. Clinton, not so much.
