The truth is that it is socially unacceptable to say you are a Trump supporter without fear of losing jobs, friends and family. Many people say they will vote Democrat. Although, it’s possible that on election day, Trump could end up with upwards of 57% of the popular vote.
On Saturday NPR All Things Considered had three Democrat Philadelphians on for a local residents conversation about the upcoming convention. Of the three, two were community organizers and the third was a (full-time) mother of three with a degree in social work.
Couldn’t they have found someone with a job?
Probably not, since working people are not their core constituency.
(Well, there are union members, but I think some of them may have seen exactly how the Democrat party *really* feels about them this time around.)
