Jeff Roe: Cruz Could Play Big Part at Convention Unifying GOP Behind Trump
Real Clear Politics ^ | June 24, 2016 | Tim Hains

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Ted Cruz's campaign manager, Jeff Roe, comments on what Trump can do at the Republican Convention to unite the party: Give Ted Cruz a prominent role.

JEFF ROE: I would be remiss if I didn't point out that without data, without online fund raising, they kicked my butt anyway. That's on top of us raising $93 million, which was a record (at the time) for Republican primaries, getting eight million votes.

Mr. Trump has a way to control the news cycle. I believe they will be able to put it together, but they have to get going now. The time -- it boils down to data and analytics and ground really equates to about a point and a half, 2.5, 3.5, points depending on how the Democrats are doing it. And the Democrats are doing it well, because they --the Clintons-- have won so many campaigns within the margin of error.

That typically means that the ground game made the difference. I think they [the Trump campaign] have time.

The RNC has done a good job ramping up. It's a generic model. They will need to make it Trump specific. But if you look at the polls the last few days, after what has been six and a half weeks of pretty tough stuff for the Trump people, he's still in margin error or up in places where he needs to be. In fact he's doing better than you would anticipate him doing in places like Pennsylvania and others.

I think there's time to catch up. They do have to get going very quickly...

He’s not Canadian.

He was up until a couple years ago when he asked Canada to
cancel his Canadian citizenship and they did.

Let’s keep repeating that, maybe after a hundred times it will sink in...

“There is no nominee until after the convention.”

Yes, I have the story of the Cruz from Cuba, the lies he told, where he went, why he went, what he did and who he did it with, why he went to Canada, who he was married to, two women at one time, divorced them both in the same year...in fact, on the divorce papers with Ted’s mom and dad, it asks how many children and 0 was put there, so where did Ted come from? Parents not want to claim their children? What does that tell you...

A lot of information, and if you research, you can also find it...and why does Ted have his records sealed, like Obama, why does he think he’s so smart to run for President after only spending two years in the Senate, like Obama, born in another country, like Obama, father not born on American Soil, like Obama...

When and if you do the research, then you will have more answers...

You can claim that we need a paradigm shift in politics which emphasizes issues that are not traditionally focused on.

You can claim that we need to focus on nationalism, patriotism and sovereignty before all else.

You can say protection of American heritage and security is more important than any other issue.

You can say a lot of things in defense of Trump but you simply cannot say he is “further to the right” than Ted Cruz.

From abortion to guns to religious liberty to the Constitution to Austrian economics to individual liberties to the role of government in citizens lives...Cruz is light years more “conservative” than Trump and has demonstrated this time and time again.

I can link to articles demonstrating Trumps historical weakness in each of these areas if you would like references.

I will support him. I will vote for him. By focusing on the things that he has championed, he may ultimately do more good for the U.S. than Cruz could have done. But I will not say something as ridiculous as Trump is farther to the right than Cruz.

I find it interesting that the very day the pictures of Oswal and Cruz Sr. showed up, Ted quit. If it want his dad, wouldn’t he fight for his father? That was telling.

I very well know both Trump’s and Cruz’s positions, past and present.

I was one of cRuz’s biggest supporters...here, and with my time and money.

What cRuz has done in the last several months....from basically parroting everything Trump says, to the dirty tricks he played in IA and with the delegates, since, to saddling up with ¡Jeb! and Bush donors, to accusing Trump’s ‘tone’ as the cause of the Chicago rally violence....and, finally, to refusing to endorse Trump and release his delegates to Trump....he has literally wiped out EVERY ‘conservative’ attribute he may have ever/never had.

I overlooked his wife’s GS connections, initially, but now...after reading more about her involvement with the CFA, I don’t trust her, either.

Like I said, I once had respect for and supported my Senator cRuz. Not anymore. I’ll work as hard to vote against him, in his Senate run, as I did to get him there.

Trump has done MORE for the conservative cause than ANY so called conservative or Republican has done, in at least two decades.

Defend cRuz all you want. HIS own record does otherwise.

Trump is, and has always been, a patriot. He is the ONLY candidate who grasps now, and has affirmed for decades, that the issue is putting America first. Until Trump entered the race, no one was talking about our lost sovereignty. But, as Trump says, without sovereignty you don’t even have a country. Trump alone pointed out that the political class, conservatives included, sold our country out to foreign/globalist interests. Trump alone promised to ignore the vast flow of dollars that are paid to politicians to keep them selling out the USA; Trump alone promised to operate solely on America’s best interests. He’s the only one whose conservatism means conserving the country itself.

Trump does not have a decades’ long record of holding strict conservative positions. Yet he is unique in his attempt to save the country’s very existence. He grasps the Big Picture, and is the only candidate who does.

I would love to know the answers to all of those questions, but he has sealed all the records. A child born in Canada would have to apply for recognition by the US govt.
A foreign birth and foreign national father are two strikes against him being a natural born citizen.

Cruz was doing what the rest of conservatives in Congress were doing only more so and more energetically.

Conservatives were focused on social issues, the budget, Obamacare, and Cruz was with them when who knows where Trump was.

Now what voters are focused on has changed. Cruz looks bad and Trump looks good to a lot of conservatives.

But that shouldn't change the fact that Cruz was with the conservatives when Trump was hanging out with the Clintons.

PS, I never much liked Ted Cruz. I just don't like seeing people get a raw deal.

The thing that rubs people wrong with Cruz is sincerity. To give you one example: Cruz campaigned prominently on being the Evangelical candidate. Later he admitted that he and his wife give zero to their home church. But what really galled was the fact that Cruz lied about the reason he gives nothing.

Judging a person for stiffing their local church is not good. Taking issue with a wholesale lie about WHY that person doesn’t give is legitimate.

The point being, if Cruz were consistently all that he’s claimed, or even most of what he’s claimed, you’d see a lot more respect for him. Instead, former supporters (such as myself) are feeling played, and rightly so.

Ted is in need of soaking his head. If only a big enough bucket could be found. The foreign born who attempt to portray themselves as natural born citizens, or even AMERICAN citizens are a dime a dozen in today’s world. Mr. Trump would be better off hiring Americans, and having Americans on stage and a part of his events. It is sincerely hoped that when Mr. Trump is sworn into office one of the first official duties will be to look at anchor babies, the clause in the Constitution to define Natural Born Citizen, and proceed to clean up all the other lies which have been drilled into the American population these past 60 plus years.

TRUMP for a strong AMERICA
For a Safe AMERICA
For a Righteous America
For an AMERICA - one nation under one God, one flag, and one Constitution,

TRUMP putting AMERICA FIRST!

No, it’s really up to Cruz. Unless he can muster the integrity to honor his pledge during the time when it could actually help, he should not play a role at the convention. People who cannot decide which would be worse, Trump or Mrs. Clinton, shouldn’t be speaking at the GOP convention period.

It’s sad how decieved they are. They keep their heads in the sand about anything negative, but true, about Cruz. Talk about your cultist mindset.
