Gingrich praises Clinton's 'spectacular speech'

Hillary Clinton’s speech Tuesday reveling in her historic title as the first woman to clinch a major political party’s presidential nomination drew praise from an unlikely source Wednesday: a Republican who has endorsed Donald Trump.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich described the reality star’s toned down, teleprompter speech Tuesday as “very fine” but cast Clinton’s remarks as a “spectacular speech” that was “very effective.”

“Let me first say that I thought Hillary Clinton’s speech last night was very effective,” Gingrich said Wednesday via Facebook live. “No conservative, no Republican should assume that she’s gonna be a pushover.”

After apologizing for his hair — it’s not quite right, he said, but will be cut Thursday — Gingrich suggested that Clinton will be a formidable challenger to Trump....

Trump must have pissed him off...and not about the judge comments. More like maybe, turned down for VP or some other slight. Newt turned on a dime from staunch proponent to slicing and dicing repeatedly.

I guess this is his way of bowing out of the vice presidential sweepstakes.

You know, that’s it. My wife keeps asking, “Don’t they know it will affect them too?” Well, how is that working for Venezuela’s elites (all five of them?) I mean, SOONER or later it will hit them, but they are counting on this being later after they are long gone.

He enjoys listening to Hillary's voice?

I don't want him for Vice President.
Maybe Hillary will.

I thought the sofa with Nancy Pelosi was bad enough.

The first order of business for Trump at the convention should be a resolution to throw Gingrich, all the Bushes, McConnell and Ryan out of the Republican party.

Talking heads who are cheerleaders for one side or the other are a dime a dozen.

If Newt's pulling down big bucks from some cable outfit presumably it's because he has some expertise, some inside knowledge of what works in politics.

I didn't think much of Hillary's speech, but Newt may think that he just can't rubber stamp everything his side says as great and everything the other side says as failed.

If it was good, it deserves to be said. I didn’t and won’t watch. But just because Newt praised the speech doesn’t mean he supports her.

Newt,

Next time forget the haircut and cut the Quisling speech.

Whose side are you ON ?!?

Knock it off with the public suckup schlepping for a job with the dark side.

Newt is pragmatic. He was judging the speech based on her intended audience. He was being honest. WHO CARES?

I get the feeling that someone passed along some bad news from Trump to Newt last week, and probably before the Curiel kerfuffle.
