Pat makes some good points, but he utterly fails to address Trump’s weaknesses as a unifying figure.

Oh that's rich. he gets bashed and bashed and bashed by the GOPe and you blame him for not being a unifying factor? Unbelievable.

It is called farting in a crowd and then blaming someone for the stink.

No, he’s getting shut out because he didn’t have an insider political handler to juggle the delegates. He was wrong to think that he didn’t need that type of expertise. Very wrong.

Colorado-type states where .000000001% of the population choose the nominee are anathema to the primary process. It’s pure party good ole boy cronyism at its finest. Ditto -Wyoming.

States that are grossly underrepresented during the primary process should be forced to the end of the cycle and stripped to the bare minimum of delegates. Likewise, states that always pick us a loser and have low voter turnout for the General Election deserve to be knocked down the ladder.

Trump has alienated a large segment of the GOP activist base. That’s why he’s getting shut out at party conventions like the one in Colorado.

Those hacks might succeed in blocking Trump, but as a constituency they're useless garbage. We can see their reach in the horrible national results from 1992-2012. I include Bush's two "wins", one which was so close it amounted to a tie, the other a squeaker. That's what Karl Rove insider thinking gets us in the current environment. Mostly outright defeat, with the occasional technical victory. That environment was created by amnesty, where an ever growing dependent class is imported to swell Democrat voter rolls.

The only way to win is to change the game. Trump does that, which makes him risky and unpredictable. The alternative is a predictable loss with a conventional candidate who brings the conventional coalition, the one that lost in 2008 and 2012 against Barack Obama.

When asked how they can win without Trump's issues the party hacks always repeat the same failed "outreach" schemes, where we pander on cultural issues to get more women, more minorities, and sometimes even more homosexuals.

As if the GOP can ever satisfy the cultural left without losing its cultural right base.

Trump's new coalition brings in economic nationalists and regular Americans sick of mass immigration and a gutless approach to islamic terror. All groups that can get along with religious conservatives, pro-defense conservatives anti-tax conservatives and pro-gun conservatives. Libertarians are the only group that has problems with nationalism. Even they can be reached.

Without that new coalition the GOP will become a liberal party, and the United States will be absorbed into the North American Union, the Bill of Rights nullified and Americans wiped out.

I think you are correct, Trump can’t win w/o Cruz’s millions of voters and likewise with Cruz.

At some point the fighting will have to end and both sides pull together. I just don’t see that happening, the division is just to deep and wide.

Trump,s and Cruz’s followers are very loyal.

At this point Cruz gives me no reason to vote for him. Why should I when he is hijacking Trump’s campaign instead of embracing it. He’s dirty. So he is nolonger in good graces. He wants to win at all costs even when he is losing.

We do need to unite. But the Cruz campaign is not worried about uniting they want Cruz to win at any cost. So it’s like a boxing match. No interest in unity. The Cruz side only wants Cruz and have been attacking Trump at every chance. My side for Trump fights back. We have found holes in Cruz and his strategy. Exposing Ted only causes Cruz’s side to double down and fight back. It’s like there is a core group who will never embrace a unity ticket or one of the two guys. I saw this coming because the tea party was so divisive and full of rancor over candidates. And 17 candidates ran in the primary so nobody was going to agree. The big thing both groups were stead fast in their resolve that their guy was the best one. So now that they basically took out the other guys we are at an impass. We don’t see don’t see eye to eye.

I see this as a total disaster for the republicrat party. Had they only followed the will of the people they could have adapted to Trump and we could have won. Now we see the obliteration of republicrats FOR EVER. It will be brutal. There will be nothing left .

If trump wins the nomination, yes. If Cruz steals it, no way!

I think a lot of Ted Cruz voters don’t care about him, but just want to vote against Trump.

Cruz doesn’t talk about his vision, he just attacks Trump, so the support is about that.

No. And it doesn't matter, they are all pushing the globalist communist agenda. I could not care less if it's Hillary, Biden, Cruz, Rubio--different hat, same outcome.

Well, it kind of depends on who you want America to hit the lip of the Grand Canyon with: the Dems at 100mph or the GOP at 85mph.

"Wheeee!"

And Cruz has unified us how? He was/is losing and decided that he would follow his ego and "fight for us" to the bitter end. His actions have caused a huge rift in potential voters - he has destroyed any possible unity in a few months - it took Obama years to do the same with race relations.

Cruz appears to be a cancer at this point.

Millions of less votes than Trump already so he goes all lawyer behind the scenes to bypass the millions of more votes against him by the people.

Stick a fork in him and the GOP\RNC, they are all politically terminal.

I still don’t understand how Cruz supporters can believe he’ll win anything after ripping the party apart. Reasonable candidates would have gotten behind Trump a few weeks ago for the sake of winning the GE.

I understand why the party is fighting Trump because they don’t want their gravy train to end, but I don’t understand Cruz’s supporters are hanging on and even championing delegate poaching.

Cruz is a disappointment, his lack of ethics does not point to IMO Christianity or honorable conservatism.
Now there are millions of voters who may want to lay hands on Cruz, but maybe not like his father; probably to kick his tush back to Canada.

Can’t wait to see how Rush will try and cover over the Cruz stuff in Colorado.
Never thought you could expose Rush and Levin, we must be in end times.
