Trump would have to hire an army to keep Cruz on the straight and narrow.

I think you have them mixed up. Cruz is still married to his first wife.

Why would Trump want to work with a liar and someone who parrots him?

Hey, hey... we are trying to eventually make peace here!
I hope Rasmussen is right, but both men want the big prize, and I don't think either is particularly interested in the VP spot. I have no idea what Trump would want, as I don't think he'd be going again when he is 73 or 77. Cruz might prefer to stay in the senate and run again as first in line on his own terms.
Trump doesn't have a personal, vested interest in the Republican Party, as such (and I don't blame him for that). I hope he would be willing to support a Cruz nomination to thwart a Hillary Clinton win, but there is no way t know if he would. Cruz would likely be willing to support a Trump nomination at the expense only of Trump making a stronger statement in apology for the Heidi Cruz stuff (perhaps couple with a Cruz statement denouncing the Liz Mair Melania Tump spot).

“That’s because it would be in the best interests of the second place finisher to support the winner. That’s what happened at the last contested Republican convention in 1976. President Gerald Ford narrowly edged out Ronald Reagan.”
Remember how Ford kept calling Reagan “lying Ronnie” and accusing him of doing illegal things.
No?
Me neither, actually.

Trump isn’t going to change the world alone, you need an army.

Sure they could work together with Trump as President and Cruz as Senator to pass bills

That’s a time-limited deal there. He’ll never get reelected in Texas.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
I can’t imagine this happening unless the nominee is Trump and there is a move by others to unite the party (it won’t work).

Trump is a RINO — a fake Republican who will become a Democrat or an Independent in a heartbeat.
Cruz will unite the REAL Republicans and then defeat Hillary. Trump will go pound sand. His sane supporters will vote for Cruz. No doubt.

And just how will he do that when his worst performances are in the 3 states that matter most..

They won’t ever have to work together on the campaign. It’s not going to come to that scenario.

Do you Cruz people ever think about anything else other than Trump's sex life. Straight and narrow was not a sexual reference, rather to the fact that Cruz is not trustworthy on any matter. When Cruz could not get McConnel to pass a Senate resolution that Cruz was eligible to hold the office of president, Cruz had a hissy fit and called McConnel publicly a liar... Trump does not need that kind of headache.

I’d love to see a link about your assertion vis a vis McConnell, but since nothing of the kind ever happened, I won’t hold my breath.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
I think the war between Trump and Cruz has made it less likely that either of them will be elected as POTUS. The sooner they both stop, the better.
