I took one for the team and actually went to the site and read the entire article.
But it consisted of nothing more than Trump bad, he’ll ruin America and the GOP.
Billy never did get around to saying HOW trump could be stopped, just that he SHOULD be.

I never imagined how strong the donor class was— in my more naive days I thought publications like the Standard and people like the Koch Brothers were good guys.

I looked at the article and, as I suspected, Kristol never once mentions AMERICA.
He talks about “American leadership abroad” (the neocon ideal) and “Majority of the American people” (political expediency). NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT THE NATION.
He and his ilk have no clue; and I’m being generous to call him stupid, and not an out-and-out traitor for his globalist agenda.

He’s worried about Trump.
I’m worried about the crew already elected in Washington from both parties, and unwilling to stop the growth of government or even question if it is Constitutional.
I’m worried about the debt.
I’m worried about immigration
I’m worried about unemployment
I’m worried about obamacare
We are virtually guaranteed to get more of all of this if we elect anyone BUT Trump. We may get more of it with him too, but at least with Trump we destroy the GOP establishment along the way, and probably the democrat establishment, too.
The GOP ceased to care about America a long time ago. The Democrats an even longer time ago.

I searched without success for the Weekly Standard’s comment section for this article. Alas, there seems not to be one. This particular gaggle of pundits wishes only to be heard from on high, ex cathedra, safely above voices of dissent that might have helped them more correctly assess Trump’s popularity instead of predicting he’d go nowhere. While shrouding themselves in the mantle of democracy, they give nothing but the old yada yada yada to other points of view.
