However long it takes to achieve their desired goal.
It isn’t wise to give your opponents. a stick to beat you with.
If Trump fails to show, he is basically giving ammo to everyone one of his opponents and all of the media.
Why give your enemy ammo to fire at you? Wherein lies the advantage?
Will he do the same when in office with foreign nations, with news outlets, or with public appearances?

I can’t see any point in taking this particular risk.
My hope at this point is that he is engaging in a game of lowering expectations and then exceeding expectations by showing up and hitting it out of the park right in their faces in spite of whatever land mines they have planted for him.
Trump has already shown that anyone who tries to destroy him end up destroying themselves on Trump.
You go there, and you lead, right in front of their faces to such a degree that when it’s over, all they can say is oh boy we just got schlonged.

I will vote for Cruz or Trump only.

Cruz could have done this and looked like a champion. He still could and say, “Even though he has said some things about me, Donald Trump is right on this” and walk out as well. His #s would rise. Don’t know if it would be enough to get him in the lead, but now he’s a fool to stay in, as HE now “becomes Trump.”
