I don’t want a vegetarian on the ticket. He has stated that he hopes there comes a time when Americans don’t feel the need to eat meat.
That was my first red flag with him. In Texas, most people like their brisket.
Mediterranean diet is a little bit of meat every day with some vegetables and maybe a little pasta.
They’re living into their 90s easy in my family.
I dont eat like my parents though, who ate like old world Italians. I LIKE MEAT. Big steaks, rare, and juicy :)
Totally off topic, but did your parents eat cucuzza, aka gagoots?
Enough to make a person throw up.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take to this and Zucchini and squash and lentils and soup with chicken organs in it.
I would be a healthier person.
I remember stories of grandpa chopping the head off the turkey in Brooklyn for Thanksgiving lol.
I left out eggplant. Hate it.
“...a device by the oligarchs and press to take out Trump and pave the way for Bush.”
This seems to be a common meme, and sorry, I don’t agree.
I first started hearing about Carson a couple years before the infamous Prayer Breakfast. Some of my evangelical relatives who are very active in political circles and Southern Baptist Convention were talking about how the SBC was buzzing about Carson for president. The idea was to promote a black conservative Christian to get the black Christian vote, as a bloc, out of the clutches of the Democrats. A way of uniting black and white evangelical churches.
Carsons backers were promoting him for POTUS long before Bush announced.
They were promoting him, not Bush, from the get-go, and they wanted/ still want him, not Bush, to win. Those folks are certainly not in cahoots with the liberal media, in some weird conspiracy to nominate Jeb in order to assure a Hillary/ Democrat victory. C’mon, get real. SBC hates the Dems and lib media, too, probably more than some FReepers.
That said, I’m inclined to agree with the other things you said. Carson got it right on Muslims/ shariah, but not much else, I’m afraid. Being a Really Nice Man isn’t quite good enough, although I would not vote against him!
If perchance he got top billing—unlikely, methinks—I’d vote for him and pray he can learn quickly !!!
POTUS must be Commander in Chief, appointer of Attorney General, and will likely select at least 2 Supremes, as well as district judges.
His allegiance must be to the Constitution and taxpayers.
Can he do the job? Can he handle a crisis with the best interests of the country foremost?
I do think Carson sincerely cares about the country more than himself. I’m not so sure he could handle a fast-moving international crisis.
OTOH, his not being a hothead could turn out to be a national asset in a crisis situation.
Trump? Putin would eat his lunch.

Who are you?
Predictions are out this year LOL.
I originally thought he was a Baptist.
I’ll admit, I was a bit put off when I later found out about him being an Adventist, too. But I think he answered my concerns just fine, when he said no to any Christan theocracy, as well as Muslim.
The reason for my concern was, I now live in a rural area. There are a LOT of Seventh Day Adventists around here, and they go door to door proseletyzing. I’ve read their literature, and spoken with them briefly.
Essentially, their sect is based on their interpretation of Genesis. They believe God rested on Satuday, not Sunday.
And these folks—the ones I encountered anyway; I don’t know if they’re representative of all Adventists— seemed sure that all the other Christians who attend church on Sunday are headed straight to hell.
Which would have, IMO, put that group on par with Westboro Baptists. Big potential for embarrassment to Christians in general. Libs would have a field day. Yikes!
But Carson doesn’t seem that narrow. He answered well. Also, as I said in my post above, he’s been vetted by Baptists and other evangelicals, and found to be ok.
I’ve decided my neighbors are just country people who mean well, but don’t get to the city much. There are a lot of old school Pentacostals, too, around here. The women have knee-length hair.
Besides he loves Amnesty for illegals. He's basically Lindsey Graham without the resume or issue knowledge.
If ANYONE thinks that Carson will pull in a single black vote simply because he’s black, they are DREAMING. It’s that simple. Carson might be good for the ticket for other reasons (although I can’t name any), but he won’t do jack for getting black votes. Even with Obama’s race-hating background, he had to work hard in 2008 to gain enough credibility with black voters to overcome Hillary.
outstanding!
He will get the other black brain surgeon’s vote.
Yes, the singular case was purposeful. He will receive many American’s vote who exhibit many deviations in melanin.
He will not receive any hyphen votes. The modern usage of hyphens does not imply an equal relationship. Hyphens are now intended to demean all successors (and always precede American).
Now for a public service announcement:
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
From what I’ve seen in their end times seminars stuff they stick on my door, only 144,000 people go to Heaven, and reading between the lines, they are Seventh Day Adventist.
Also, they don’t celebrate Christmas, or Easter.. At least I know Trump loves Christmas.
I think the “144,000” sect is the Jehovah’s Witnesses, not Seventh Day Adventist. And I think they do acknowledge Christmas but without the Santa Clause business.
I’m not aware of any Christian denomination that doesn’t celebrate Easter.
Without the Resurrection, there would be no Christianity. So, IOW, Easter, yes; Easter bunny, no.
Carson has no place on the ticket, either at the top or the bottom.
Anyone who is not ready for president has no business being considered as backup to the president.
Carson would be a better choice as head of HHS or the VA.
