This is just me thinking out loud. But if you are like me you don't trust the GOP.

Most days I feel the only thing holding a dynamic presidential prospect like Cruz down is the Republican Party. If Trump were ever willing to provide his moxie and financial backing, Ted Cruz (the proper presidential option) could have a clear, unrestricted path toward true Constitutional reform.
Just an idea..... But considering today's political climate, everythings on the table. Especially if they try and force Jeb Bush 😱 down our throats.
Again, this is just me thinking out loud. I'm not sure if such a bold scenario is even possible. But if Cruz continues to gain traction he may very well become bigger than the party (he may already have!). And what has the GOP ever done for us? The Chris McDaniel fiasco is a prime example of their priorities!
Cruz has risen to prominence despite the establishment. We the People have put him there and we are prepared to ensure his rise... without compromise!!!

I can’t see either man settling for the #2 (VP) slot. What to do?
Cruz is interested in one single thing....getting the Attorney General job for four years and then get flipped over to be a Supreme Court judge. I think that’s been his angle from day one. With Trump, he’d get the deal. He’s most qualified guy for AG and would fit perfect into the Supreme Court.

There’s a least a de facto alliance. Both have similar ideology in many respects. Both have a reputation for sticking to their guns, PC be damned.
I think they respect each other.
Cruz will always have the edge with me, because unlike Trump he sees and understands the need to humble himself before GOD, repent, and take divine guidance.
I agree...Cruz as the 5th judge would be more influential than any president, but he has to get nominated.
I don't see Trump as a two termer however. If he gets elected, I think he'll be satisfied with the one term as he'll be closing in on 75 when he leaves office. That would set Cruz up even better if he takes the VP slot now.
I have been thinking the same thing though not exactly. I was of the mind that there is a lot of mop up in the AG position as it is covered over with La Raza. He would be much needed there and then of course the high court would be a no brainer
It seems to me, that since CRUZ has been in talks with Trump, on several occasions, and NO OTHER REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE HAS, the plausibility, probability, and possibility are there.
I think they like each other. If Trump decides to bow out for any reason, I think he would throw his considerable money and his considerable support to Ted Cruz.

Look at Cruz’s age in four years. He’d be young enough to hang around for twenty-five years as a S-C judge. He’d have tons of impact for decades to come.

Boy Eric Erickson’s Redstate.com is stuck on stupid. If Ted Cruz wanted to disassociate himself from Trump he’s had plenty of chances.
It could happen. Anything can happen in political races.
However what is the last time Trump quit on something he really wanted?
What’s wrong with Cruz running the senate out of corruption. Keeping a check on trump the potential tyrant but likely savior?
I can’t see Trump taking the VP slot. He’d be bored to death. That’s why I’m thinking 8 years of Trump then 8 years of Cruz. This assumes Trump sticks out 8 years. He’s unpredictable.
I like it the other way around. Cruz is the Constitutional scholar which is needed for president but he doesn’t have the heavy artillery capabilities of Trump and needs Trump as a VP with enforcer duties. I would love to see Walker in there, too. I don’t want to see high powered people in any cabinet positions other than State, Defense, unless they are tasked with promoting elimination of those departments, starting with EPA. So long as EPA exists most everything else that can be accomplished will be for nought. EPA will work to devour a Republican President and will operate as if the president has no input. The Court will side with EPA.
