On MSNBC this afternoon Democratic strategist and longtime Clinton advisor James Carville predicted presidential candidate Senator Ted Cruz will gain the 30% who currently support Donald Trump in the Republican primary once he flames out.
"Those 30% are going to be there whether Trump is there or not," Carville said.
JAMES CARVILLE: Let me back up. We play just as much outrage when he said what he said about Senator McCain. Thus far, as of now it hasn't had effect. The guy that seems to be positioning himself for the inevitable fall, which, you know, I guess it will be, is Ted Cruz. And he seems to be the person if you look at the SurveyMonkey poll, which is in corroboration with the University of Pennsylvania and there was another online poll that came out and showed Trump even stronger today.
I think Cruz has positioned himself to try to take advantage of it...

I hope he is right on this.
Who asked that unemployed jack ass?
Pat Buchanan and others say the same thing.
Even a buckethead is right twice a day.
I believe Trump and Cruz have an agreement. That is what their meeting was about and that is why Cruz has been as supportive of Trump as he has.
I think he is right. Cruz is keeping it close to the vest and going out of his way to stay out of Trump’s way. If Trump stays in it to the end, then someone’s going to get Trump’s delegates if this goes to a convention and at this point Cruz is the only one who hasn’t raised his voice against Trump. If it goes to a convention, then Trump alone may very well decide who gets the nomination.
95% of the FReepers that support Trump have said the same thing. The Martian must be reading FR.
“The Martian must be reading FR.”
Snakehead probably posts here.

++++
I’m in that 95%. Just think how much fun it would be if Trump and Cruz go to the convention with 51% of the votes between them. Could happen.
I think James underestimates the disdain the average GOP voter has for the GOP.
I believes it's 60-70%.
Unless Trump wins a majority sworn delegates before the convention.
If he takes it on first ballot, everyone dies.
Just like the Cow Palace in '64.
Think of Trump as an old school fullback. He uses two downs to gain seven yards by pioneer going the defense into submission.
Then a smoothie quarter or halfback takes it to the end zone.
After the game, Trump is given the game ball and made WH assistant-at-large and in charge of Media Relations, e.g. “OK. We’re going to close the Arizona border for a couple months. Think of of it as summer work on I-70. That’s all. Beat it.”
I don’t know what it is about this “Send the cave troll in there Hep me Deep with the dynamite” strategy that some here can’t seem to grasp. They act like chickens having spotted a weasel headed their way. He’s OUR force majeure.
Every Democrat supports Trump
Pioneer going= pile-driving
Hep me Deep= Helms Keep
F’ing autocorrect
I have said the same thing; just let Trump run, not only is Trump helping Cruz, Trump is causing other candidates to fall so far behind they will never catch up, the field will be scaled down soon enough and I am confident the last man standing will be Cruz; then he will defeat whatever democrat is in the general in a style reminiscent of Reagan.
I bet you are right.
I also bet we would all be surprised at who all reads FR.
Quite a lot of democrats supported Reagan too. Hence the name: Reagan Democrat.
I hate it when he is right but in this case he is.
Trump represents his supporters. Same with all the candidates. So when supporters of one candidate think they are helping their candidate by bashing another, they couldn’t be more wrong.
We need to bash ideas, not people And by ideas I mean positions, not words.
When I said he was right I meant it narrowly on the first point. The supporters are there whether Trump is or not. They only feel slighted when their candidate is pushed out.
