Here's why Donald Trump is really starting to scare at least one prominent Republican (Perot 2.0)

Ideally, the Repubs listen to Trump and come around to what he’s saying on immigration. He could show them that you can tell the truth about immigration and still survive the media and elite criticism, and win majority support from the American people.

If the Repubs don’t listen to Trump, then their chances of winning the presidency in 2016 go way down, whether or not he runs 3rd party.

If the GOP had nominated a pro American in ‘92 , Perot wouldn’t have been an issue.

I am not a birther type, although I did used to be one many moons ago I do confess, and I am a Cruz supporter.

I believe that you are correct when you say that Cruz cannot, or at least currently is not, jar(ring) people into a conscious state.

Trump is teaching a valuable lesson to anyone who wishes to defeat the democrat machine, which includes fraud, the dumb, the drones, illegal aliens voters and so on, how to overcome all of that, and that is by catching fire.

That is by capturing the attention of everyone in this country who still loves this country, and I believe that is a lot of people.

He is teaching that to win, any given candidate must do the exact opposite of what both Mitt Romney did and John McCain did, and that is depress their own base with their utter worthlessness.

As a candidate, it pains me to say that Ted Cruz is not connecting to the energy of his base in any significant way at this time, certainly not as Trump is.

If you want the country behind you, you had best SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT, AND SPEAK OFTEN. We are not looking for meek, little Mr. Nice Guys at all.

Now is the time to kick ass and take names AMERICAN STYLE. If a candidate does not have the stomach for this, he/ she will lose, and so will America.

Trump blanketing the airwaves continues. His schedule for tonight.

Trump - “I’m on @CNN’s @AC360 tonight @8pm & @FoxNews’ @seanhannity @ 10PM discussing immigration and lots of other things.#LetsMakeAmericaGreatAgain”

In contrast, Hillary had her very first interview of the years 2 days ago on CNN. She was stiff and lied again. Trump was being very modest with the 20% chance comment, actually he’s win by 20%. ;-)

Trump would even win in a three way, Hillary-Yeb-Trump race.
Yeb Bush comes in third.

I don’t see Trump going third party unless the GOP tries to Mississippi him.
Not that that won’t.

what do you mean by Mississippi him?

Trump is SMART. He knows that running as 3rd Party simply assures Sanders’ victory in November.

He’s doing JUST FINE in the Republican Party. He’ll be the nominee in November, since everyone else (with the possible exception of Cruz) is on the Amnesty side...which is NOT what the base wants.

Perot was MOST responsible for getting Bill Clinton elected in 1992.

No. That's a myth.

Exit polls from 1992 said that Perot drew votes equally from Poppy Bush and Slick Willy.

What's more, the Perot circus drew millions of voters into the process who would not have voted at all. The popular vote increased by almost 13 million from 1988 to 1992, and dropped by about 8 million from 1992 to 1996.

In the polling prior to the election, Bush NEVER came even close to Clinton. Even after Perot dropped out of the race, Bush was never able to get above 38% in the polling. Perot or no Perot, Bush would have lost.

True, but they were stuck with an incumbent, so it was really Reagan's fault for his poor choice of a running mate.

“Perot was MOST responsible for getting Bill Clinton elected in 1992.”

Actually it was BUSH...once he decided he wasn’t a conservative. Reagan also had a Third Party type to deal with in 1980 (John Anderson), but Reagan never strayed from being a conservative, so he held the Republican vote.

Bush as SO DAMN STUPID to think that he could win the Sierra Club vote. What an IDIOT.

Reagan had to pick a globalist to get GOP support. We shouldn’t feel obligated to reelect an incumbent.

"I doubt he would do that against Cruz"

Trump is for Trump---no one else.

Or maybe vote Ted Cruz who is side-by-side with Don Trump and has a better chance at the nomination?

Trump is forcing a debate on the #1 issue. I saw on another thread that he is the most hated candidate since 1980. Many democrats like Trump. Just like 1980.

I still want to get to vote for Cruz. But the Donald might have broader appeal.

Total horse hockey. Trump has repeatedly said he will only run as a Republican.

Did John Anderson(1980), Ross Perot(1992), George Wallace(1968) or Strom Thurmond (1948) win their races?

Using underhanded methods like they used in Mississippi against McDaniel, false/slanderous advertising, using Democrats voters, etc.

Nope. But Regan did. He was hated by the media and the party bosses. He managed to get democrats to vote for him.

I don't think Trump will run as an Indy. I think he has a shot at the nomination. Meanwhile he is forcing the party bosses to squirms. That will do for now.
