TED CRUZ - A Giant among Men (With photos of Campaign HQ grand opening)

On March 23rd, Ted Cruz became the first to throw in his name to run for the Republican presidential nomination. On Tuesday, March 31st, enthusiasts from all over the state came to the Grand Opening of his presidential headquarters in Houston, Texas. It was a ‘joyous’ occasion. Americans are hungry for a ‘change’ from doom and gloom to a new dawn. His presidential campaign logo signifies this very premise, "Reigniting the Promise of America." Cruz is a dynamic courageous conservative that will energize the many angry, restless and hurting Americans into a positive force against progressivism.

The response to his ‘Meet and Greet’ was an overwhelming success indicating that Americans are indeed ready for a ‘new dawn’. Over 500 happy and eager fans went to Houston to ‘Meet and Greet’, in whom they believe will be the next president of the United States, in spite of the negative attacks on the junior senator. The media remains unyielding in their assaults when it comes to the steadfast and outspoken Cruz.

Personal attacks including the birthers’ reaction about his citizenship and that he is not a Hispanic American is absurd. Trivial as it may seem, his campaign logo was criticized as was his TV ad and even his passion to express himself when he addresses an audience. All these strikes, it seems, did not faze the presidential candidate or his supporters. In fact, Cruz drew $2,000,000 the first two days of his campaign and $4,000,000 from across the country in eight days.

Rafael Cruz, father of Ted, mingled with the aficionados expressing his gratitude. Because of the overwhelming amount of people in attendance, Cruz’ time was limited to a photo opportunity. Cookies and ‘Ted Cruz’ bottled water were given to those waiting for the chance to greet him. Attendees were given a quick tour of the spacious headquarters where campaign business will be conducted in his bid for the nomination.

Heidi Cruz welcomed the crowd and proudly introduced her husband, Ted, emphasizing that “he really cares, he really believes.” Heidi certainly has the sparkle and graciousness necessary to be a first lady. His two daughters, Caroline and Catherine, were also present at the grand opening.

Cruz addressed the crowd with his usual candor and conservative appeal, and in campaign mode told the crowd, “We understand that our rights they don’t come from government, they come from God Almighty. That we are here standing on some very simply common sense propositions. Live within your means…stop bankrupting our kids and grandkids and follow the Constitution. These are principles that unite us. They are principles that bring us together from every walk of life. This is a movement of ‘courageous conservatives’.”

More than ever, America needs and wants someone that they can trust and believe in. Ted Cruz is such a man.

When Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. (II?) ... Barry Soetoro ... Steve Dunham .... pick one ... initially ran as a Presidential Candidate, I thought I knew what a "Natural Born Citizen" was. I.E, a person who was the offspring of two (2) American Citizens. Therefore, BHO, was not. Citizen? Perhaps. Natural Born Citizen? No way.

Now I know nothing. The Courts have refused to clarify what a citizen is, never mind a "Natural Born Citizen." A child born to illegal alien (or legal alien) parents is somehow automatically a citizen, and I am told on no particular authority that this child is also a "Natural Born Citizen," to boot. The Congress of the USA has accepted the POTUS as eligible. 50 states AsG have found him eligible. 53% of the electorate voted him into office. The Electoral College says so. The Electoral Vote was seconded by the Senate. The Chief Justice of the SCOTUS swore him in. Twice.

Looks like some sort of done deal to me. It seems to me that because the COTUS is not crystal clear on the matter, guided public opinion has decided what or who is a natural born citizen. The new definition seems to be that having one parent as a US citizen is enough, no matter where the birth took place. In addition, apparently one can also be a natural born citizen if born in the US, whether one's parents are here legally, or illegally.

IOW, the question has been decided by vote and some sort of institutional consensus. Not my vote. Not my agreement. But there it is.

correct. a couple of court cases have been brought... ALL dismissed before evidence submitted.

why?

if any case required evidence to be submitted, 0bama would commit felony forgery if he submitted the birth certificate we’ve all been shown.

as for tcuz, i agree.

a natural born citizen is a citizen naturally, as there are no alternatives.

since he has alternatives, he cannot be a natural born citizen of either country. if he were born on a US base, which is US soil, then he’d be a natural born citizen.

Well, that’s a relief that some have already looking into this before Ted Cruz decided to run for President of the USA.
So it would be a good guess that Ted Cruz and some legal minds went through this to dot ever i and cross every t ?

To make sure that the Democrats and some in the media don’t make a big deal out of this shouldn’t Ted Cruz make it official that he is eligible ?

If he is ? Is Bobby Jidal eligible ?

your original understanding was correct. everything else has been a push to allow 0bama to remain in office.

the founders wanted to insure that no future king of england could become president. as such, they used the term ‘natural born citizen’ instead of ‘citizen’.

if being citizen was enough, then a child of prince willam and kate could be born in NYC that could be president as well as king of england. this is the exact situation the founders wanted to avoid. therefore, being born on the soil is not enough.

I am not against clarification of the words and intent of the Founders as given in my copies of the Constitution. I like Cruz, his boldness of thinking and his family but I do believe the situation of his candidacy needs clarification as to public and Constitutional discernment. However, instead of a ‘new dawn’ I much prefer that Cruz use a banner with the theme that touches on the intent expressed by the Founders. My thoughts go to something like ‘the roots of our Founders are alive’.

If Bobby Jindal was born here, then I think he's eligible.

In my thoughts there is a lack of discussion as to who is or are not eligible for POTUSA. The argument(s) I have seen over the years deal mostly with/about what or who is ‘eligible’ because of whatever issue is raised. For me there is just as obvious a ‘backside’ question as to ‘who is not eligible’. The two sides of the question need to be reconciled for a permanent/fixed requirement for POTUSA eligibility.

Cruz, March 23: The facts are clear. I was born in Calgary. My parents — as a legal matter, my mother is an American citizen by birth. And it’s been federal law for over two centuries that the child of an American citizen born abroad is a citizen by birth, a natural born citizen.

the term ‘natural born citizen’ doesn’t require years of study at the seminary to decipher.

This is not theology, it is the Constitution. Where in the Constitution, did you find the DEFINITION OF NATURAL BORN CITIZEN?

....Bobby Jindal born here ....eligible."

I respect, honor, and appreciate your opinion. However, since your paycheck isn't marked "SCOTUS," that's all it is: an opinion no worthier or weightier than mine. Neither opinion should have any effect on what is supposed to rule us both: The COTUS.

Except, that it does; being the opinion of an apparent majority. That should still not affect The COTUS unless it has been amended as per the defined process, or interpreted in a way that agrees with your opinion and that of others by the SCOTUS in a case referred to it for appeal.

IMNVHO, we are living through a successful anti-Constitutional coup, a period of fundamentally weakened law, the possible end result of which could well be eventual anarchy.

We are not the only republic in this hemisphere. The difference is we have had only one revolution and one civil war. Every other country, save Canada, has had many. The shooting usually starts after one group interprets the nation's constitution in a way with which another group has a valid fundamental disagreement and is denied due process.

As our demographics change drastically (AND ILLEGALLY), we would be naïve in the extreme to think that fundamental changes can be continually made to the COTUS in a peaceful manner outside of the process. The rule of law is not about the wishes of any majority. Nor can or should these changes be made by denying the SCOTUS to appellants, as is clearly being done now in regard to Presidential eligibility.

he is incorrect.

it’s been federal law that a child born overseas of at least one American citizen parent is an American citizen. yes. but that’s not the same as natural born, as the child is also a citizen of the other country.

you’ll excuse me if i don’t take his word for it... as he has an obvious conflict of interest

Where in the Constitution, did you find the DEFINITION OF NATURAL BORN CITIZEN?

You don't. And that's the damn point.

That does NOT mean that the COTUS can be interpreted by anyone, including a majority of the voters, in any damn way it pleases them to vote at any given time. We live by the COTUS. It is to be interpreted by the SCOTUS, amended by the Congress and ratified by the states in lawful convention. If you think it needs to be fixed, fine! We have a way to do that.

You interpret it one way. I interpret it another. The Courts tell us who is right. I appeal, or you do. The SCOTUS then tells us who had the right idea.

I did say it was my opinion. And in earlier posts I said I’m no lawyer.

You’re right. It shouldn’t be about public opinion, but as I said earlier, the Court, IN MY OPINION, will probably trash any suit to disqualify Ted Cruz because he is a member of a “protected class.” It’s NOT the way it should be, but there are a lot of things in this world that shouldn’t be.

Right now I would be happy to see this settled in Tex Cruz’s favor regardless of the motivation. The Democrats have benefited from courts ruling on feelings rather than law. I’m not sure I would mind if those same shenanigans worked in our favor for once.

Thanks for your post.

I am not usually so curmudgeonly, but I am having a very hard time with this whole issue. The SCOTUS pulled a fast one on us by sitting this out. Scalia, Thomas, and Alito have been unable to get a fourth to agree to hear these eligibility appeals.

It is, IMNVHO, not a good thing for my country not to be able to tell exactly who or what is a citizen and what kind. For example, I like Cruz. But it is not HIS job to tell me he is a Natural Born Citizen.

Excuse me .. when are you people going to stop with the “clarification” garbage ..?? I mean, really; get the facts once and for all in your brain and stop this continual harassment on these threads.

Ted’s MOTHER WAS BORN IN DELAWARE, USA - MAKING HER AN AUTOMATIC AMERICAN CITIZEN. THAT CIRCUMSTANCE ALSO MAKES TED CRUZ AN AUTOMATIC CITIZEN - NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY HE WAS BORN IN (BUT BECAUSE THAT WAS WHERE HIS MOTHER LIVED AT THE TIME HE WAS BORN - AND SHE NEVER GAVE UP HER USA CITIZENSHIP).

GOT IT ..????????

NO OTHER EXPLANATION IS NECESSARY .. SO STOP THIS CONTINUAL PLANTING OF DOUBT INTO THE CITIZENS OF AMERICA THAT HE IS NOT QUALIFIED.
