Ted Talks In New Hampshire: Can Ted Cruz Cajole His Way Into 2016 Contention?
The Huffington Post ^ | March 29, 2015 | Scott Conroy

NASHUA, N.H. -- When he's out on the campaign trail in public view, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) likes his hair gel extra-shiny, his wife and two adorable daughters close to his side, and a microphone attached to his body at all times.

The former college debate national champion knows a little something about presentation, and image-crafting was entwined in every movement he made during his first swing through New Hampshire as a newly minted presidential candidate on Friday and Saturday.

At times, he risked laying it on a little too thick.

During his first appearance at a Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Merrimack, for instance, Cruz was already decked out in a headset microphone as he waded through a crowd of supporters who wanted to talk to him one-on-one for a few moments before he took the stage.

New Hampshire voters are used to seeing presidential candidates try to ingratiate themselves with locals by wearing plaid shirts, sweater vests and all other manner of hokey adornments, but the effect of Cruz's decision to glad-hand with headgear made him look more like a telemarketer than a White House aspirant.

At no point during his two-day swing through the first-in-the-nation primary state did Cruz ever appear in public without a microphone attached to his person.

But as strange as it looked, for Cruz, maintaining the ability to electronically amplify his voice at any moment is a crutch befitting his biggest asset as a candidate: his mouth....

Lord, but it's funny watching these presstitutes and RINOs squirm and try and find something to attack him with. A "headset mic?" That's all you've got? That "Obamacare hypocrite" thing didn't work out?

Isn’t it nice when they start the sneering in the first sentence? It tells me I don’t need to keep reading.

Watched Ted Cruz on CNN(?) with the imbecilic Dana Bash this morning. He handled her very well, getting to emphasize the points he wanted to make, and not falling for the usual stupid trap of just answering the gotcha questions being asked.

Very good presentation of himself.

When I saw it was huffpo, I knew I didn't need to read it.

Any idea how he is doing with Indies?

I checked out the Real Clear Politics poll, and he way down on that. But it didn’t specify who was polled of course.

To be frank - I am not rooting for anyone yet. After the last election, I’ve decided to wait until the first three drop out before I get excited about someone.

the left and the MSM have seriously, massively underestimated ted cruz. they’re still selling the caricature of him they created during his filibuster.

I think we’re seeing the onset of a new virus, one that only affects people with a liberal mindset. It’s called Cruzmentia. I think we’re seeing an epidemic about to sweep the land.

“Gladhanding with a headset made him seem more like a telemarketer than a White House aspirant.

My, how the rules are different for Liberals!

Remember the internet marketing campaign for Zero
with endless emails, tweets, instagrams, and limitless other cyber propaganda
selling of “Yes we can” and fundamentally “transforming” America.

That, of course, with constant, repetitive pleas to send just two more dollars.

Libs are the pros at “telemarketing.”

The Liberals are very, very nervous.

They're just vamping until the Soros-funded oppo research team comes up with something big.

Like something painted on the underside of a rock in a campground that Mr. Cruz's parents took him to when he was fourteen years old.

"Cajole"? Maybe he'll have to drag those in the GOPe, since he's still a viable conservative to the rest of the party, so far as I'm aware.

If people would just listen, set aside their pre made chaotic messy world view and hear what he has to say. HE MAKES SENSE. New Hampshire will respond wisely and give him a chance to explain.

You would never see Obama do that, can’t fit the TelePrompTer down the aisle.

“Cajole?” Was that word ever once used for any RAT, including the feckless one? No need to do a search, the answer is obvious. They are scared, and everyday they tell you how scared they are. Cruz is a great candidate, if only to put the fear of God in the RATS, his candidacy will have been worth the time.

He needs to use a TelePrompTer whenever he opens his mouth because he’s so incredibly smart.

He is demonized with “some people are saying” questions leading up to the interview, then CNN and others make the mistake of attempting a scripted gotcha interview. It is scripted so they can not debate him real time. The interviewer can not process what the off-air pundit is screaming in their earpiece fast enough.

Cruz takes the floor with a remarkable ability to put both the question and his answer in full context which makes him look intelligent and the interviewer not.

I’m loving every minute of it.
