Texas Sen. Ted Cruzs newly minted presidential campaign is the media equivalent of a juicy rib-eye that robbers use to distract a guard dog during a heist. Hell get a ton of media attention, and hell get to spread his message which may be all that Cruz is after but Cruz almost certainly has no shot of winning the nomination, according to every indicator that predicts success in presidential primaries.
First, Cruz doesnt have enough support from party bigwigs. To win the Republican or Democratic nomination, you need the backing of at least some of the party apparatus. At a minimum, your fellow party members shouldnt hate you. Otherwise, you end up getting the Newt Gingrich 2012 treatment. That is, you get pounced on the moment youre seen as a threat to win the nomination.
If were ever in a world where it looks like Cruz could win the nomination, youll very likely see such pouncing. You can read article after article about how Cruz has isolated himself in the Senate. It got so bad that he recently had to apologize to his Republican colleagues.
And the Cruz hatred doesnt stop at the edges of the Senate cloakroom. Influential party actors dislike him, too. I cant remember another Republican who united Ann Coulter, Pat Robertson, Jennifer Rubin and Thomas Sowell in opposition....

I have also said for a while that Cruz's biggest asset and biggest liability is his self chosen position as the Republican's top fire eater. Cruz will have people coming out of the woodwork to vote for him. Cruz has made a lot of enemies as those without a moral compass are at best disdainful (more often implacable enemies) of those who point out their lack of morals.
Look at his eyes...I think the chances are good that he’s on some kind of “prescription” drug(s).
OK Harry, stop your complaining. Here’s a juicebox, now go outside and play with your sister.
Still talking about the guy who can’t win. /s
Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.
Ping.
tl;dr: The establishment doesn’t like him so he’s bad!
The establishment is who we’re running against in the primary. They’re not supposed to like the candidate!
Wow. You can't get more extreme than that. Actually wanting economic GROWTH! Wow. What an extremist!
Isn’t that what the media said about Ronald Reagan (i.e., the greatest POTUS in my lifetime)?
“Some of Ted Cruzs Ideas:
Abolish IRS and institute a flat tax.
Close the borders.
Fix immigration system and expand legal immigrants.
No citizenship to illegal immigrants.
Defeat and Demolish ISIS.
Protect the unborn.
Protect 2nd Amendment.”
The vast majority of American citizens support all the above. Cruz is with the people and is far from extreme.
Harry Enten has done a good job of repeating the Establishment meme.
He’s only missing, “he can’t win”
To that I say, “like McCain and Romney?”
To the “extreme and disliked” claim, I reply, “I think he’s great, and so do the people I know”
The sheep want to go with the herd
Says who?
A liberal effeminate boy like Harry?
LOL!
Well, Well, Well ....... Bien Frickin Bien ........
Monsieur Enten, have you not ‘erd’ (heard) there was a person named Ronald Reagan who was ‘reported’ in 1980 that he would surely start the World War III? C’est vrai mon petit!
Yes mon ami, my little one, it is twue! Ronald Reagan was eh... a warmonger that the country would never elect! He was trop dangereux! Too dangerous! No one could like him!

This puke resides on breeding grounds for liberal twerps. Unfortunately, as long as the North East New York Axis of Media stays intact, he will very likely be promoted up their ranks of twerps.
But listen to his message and it is clear he doesn’t understand and the “party bigwigs” may not understand that without those of us who actually go vote the rest is nonexistent. We, the people, get to decide, in spite of all the Brown Shirt Media propaganda, in spite of all the election frigging (fraud and rigging), in spite of all their efforts the Tsunami that is coming will wash away all the putrid perfidy they have spun with such elaborate care. In ONE DAY we will see all their efforts undone. Like a breath of fresh air after walking past a rendering plant the years of The Klown Prince will be washed away. Just a faded memory of a bad dream. The day we have waited for is now on the horizon.
Are these the same genuis’ who said Romney was the only one who could win? What if we are using the wrong formula and nobody knows?
Pray America is waking up
It's beneath what FR should be and what it once was. It is, sad to say, all that some of our posters ever bring to the table.
Looks like either full blown AIDS or third stage syphilis after it attacks the brain a la Al Capone.
“Too extreme” by someone who arrogates the right to define where “normal” is. (Aren’t leftists always trying to destroy the idea of “normality”?)
“too disliked” by everyone the author associates with.
