Why Jeb Bush Might Lose (Actually Downplays Ted Cruz)
The New York Times ^ | March 21, 2015 | Ross Douthat

IF you’re keeping score during the endless 2016 preseason, this was a pretty good week for Jeb Bush.

First, he watched Scott Walker, currently his main competitor for the Republican front-runner slot, stumble through another not-ready-for-prime-time moment, first hiring a well-liked young consultant named Liz Mair and then sacking her one day later because it turned out that she had tweeted intemperately about the sacred state of Iowa.

Second, he survived Andrew Ferguson.

Ferguson is a brilliant essayist and reporter for the Weekly Standard, and lately he has been an angel of death for Republican presidential hopefuls. During the last presidential preseason, he profiled Haley Barbour of Mississippi and Mitch Daniels of Indiana, and both governors lived to regret it. Barbour let slip what sounded like praise for the civil rights-era White Citizens’ Council in his native Yazoo City; Daniels told Ferguson that the country needed a “truce” on social issues. Not coincidentally, neither man ended up even mounting a presidential bid.

In 2013, a Ferguson profile of Ted Cruz included a devastating section in which the journalist, trapped in cars and green rooms with his subject, realizes that Cruz only speaks in stump speeches, and won’t ... stop ... giving ... them.....

ICE didn’t release a breakdown of criminal offenses of the new 30,000 on Wednesday, but among the 36,000 released in 2013 were 193 homicide convictions, 426 sexual assault convictions, 303 kidnapping convictions and 16,070 convictions for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

They are releasing murderers, kidnappers, sex criminals, and drunk drivers into the American populace because their home countries won't take them back?

And they released even more last year?

How the hell is all hell not breaking loose?

This is insane, the apparatchiks and the politicians and judges responsible for this need to go to jail.

START IMMIGRATION REFORM BY CATCHING THESE MF’S AND SENDING THEM BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM.

Their countries don’t want them back, TOO DAMN BAD.

This is impeachable.

Republicans in Congress have proposed rewriting the law to allow for longer detention of serious criminals, and have called on the Obama administration to use existing powers to deny visas to leaders of countries that refuse to take their citizens back.

But the administration has declined to take those steps.

Those released from custody are generally supposed to be monitored, and Ms. Saldana vowed to stiffen those procedures to try to ensure those that are released are not able to commit new crimes.

The RIGHT WING needs to take matters in hand.

The marxists in DC have now elected to dispatch a LEGION OF ILLEGAL ALIEN MURDERERS, KIDNAPPERS, SEX CRIMINALS, AND DRUNK DRIVERS INTO THE AMERICAN POPULACE.

This cannot stand, these are not your standard illegal aliens, these are HARD CORE FELONS, and their release into the populace undermines the HUSSEIN Administrations narrative that they are going to grant amnesty to garden variety ILLEGAL ALIENS to concentrate on “criminals”

This is a goddamned CPUSA conspiracy, the CPUSA is in control of DHS.

Those responsible must be brought to justice.

The CPUSA controlled HUSSEIN BARAKA ADMINISTRATION wages war against REAL AMERICANS on a daily basis on an unlimited number of fronts.

They time release of damaging information to coincide with other world events in order to deflect attention.

THESE 150,000 MURDERERS, KIDNAPPERS, SEX CRIMINALS, AND DRUNK DRIVERS NEED TO BE HUNTED DOWN LIKE DOGS AND EXPELLED!!!!!!!!!!

not-ready-for-prime-time = the MSMs branding of Walker. They fear him so much. He’s been ready and whipping them already.

Why America might lose. America has lost. America has sank 10000 times below the farthest depths of the ocean and is unrecoverable... unsalvageable.... But HEY! A GOOD HAIR DAY!

Jebster is the designated loser this time around.
Like Romney before him, and McCain before him.
The GOP exists to block conservatives, not represent them.
There is no chance of the RNC allowing us to vote for someone who wil stop the invasion.

Personally, I like some of these not-ready-for-prime-time moments.

Who isn’t sick to death of the slick, perfected ones slipping the silver from the table, with honey gleaming on their lips just to turn on you like a cobra trying to remember your name and what he had told you.

They said it of Ted Cruz when he stymied the Senate for days over immigration. Now Walker comes up with a loose cannon as his faulty communications “expert”, and he fires her upon notice, sending her to the woodshed of darkness and her goofy insults to the Iowa state apparatus with her. he is trying to WIN.

Dems like Jeb. He is going to be tough to keep corralled because they like him. Walker, they don’t like so much. He has chops.

RE:”And that’s why if Jeb could just run against, say, Carson, Huckabee and Cruz, it wouldn’t matter that voters don’t want to be represented by another scion of the Bush dynasty. In the end, they wouldn’t really have a choice.”

HAHA , reminds me of 2012

Why JEB might lose? Because we want a ticket that has two conservatives on it...not a Democrat light with a conservative ...

The thing that strikes me about all this carping and n it picking about Walker is how minor it is and how well he’s survived it so far. All I’ve seen is him picking up in the polls that matter the most.

That firing was brilliant. It showed Walker is a decisive executive who’ll quickly do what’s essential to keep his campaign running. For Walker, Iowa is as essential as it was for Obola in 2008. Any one of Walker’s people who was so utterly bone headed as not to realize that and jeopardize him there deserved immediate, summary firing. He did it, and more power to him.

The author of this article thinks that Ted Cruz doesn’t have a prayer of getting the nomination. He categorized Ted with Ben Carson and Mike Huckabee. I can’t wait for the first Debate 5 months from now. I think that is where Cruz will win-over the naysayers who think he is a “wacko”, as John McCain called him. If people watch the Debates, I think Ted will be a force to be dealt with and will go the distance.
