Ted Cruz Comes to Florida to Attack Jeb Bush on Common Core
Sunshine State News ^ | February 22, 2015 | Jeff Henderson

Ted Cruz came to Jacksonville Friday night and called out Jeb Bush on Common Core.

More so than most of the other Republicans testing the waters for 2016, Cruz has taken shots at Bush over Common Core. But this time Cruz fired away at Bush in his own backyard.

Cruz said he and Bush had “significant policy disagreements” on Common Core and would not weigh in if the former Florida governor was a conservative, saying that was something voters had to decide for themselves. Of course, Cruz also touched on other topics -- repeal Obamacare, get rid of the IRS -- but Common Core is increasingly in his sights.

Bush has more than his share of vulnerabilities in the primary, including immigration and his last name, but Common Core is the main chink in his armor. It’s an issue that will hurt Bush badly with conservatives and Republican primary voters.

But Cruz has to be careful here. He’s not in the top tier of the Republican primary, with conservatives going for other candidates at the moment -- namely, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Ben Carson and Mike Huckabeee. Chances are, when Republicans meet in Cleveland next July, Cruz won’t be the nominee.

That means Cruz has to be careful in making sure things are calm in his backyard. The Bush family remains very prominent in Texas and Jeb Bush Jr. is already working his way up the ranks in the state GOP. Texas also remains divided with Bush, Rick Perry, Cruz and other 2016 contenders. Perry has already gone on the attack against Cruz, reminding primary voters that his fellow Texas Republican is a senator who has been more focused on legislating and talking instead of managing anything, even comparing him to Barack Obama. If Cruz isn’t careful, he could face a far more divided base back home in Texas.

Still, the Texas conservative is on the right track. He needs to stand out among conservatives already starting to crowd the Republican primaries. Along with Walker, Bush is at the head of the pack for the moment and provides a far easier target for conservatives than the Wisconsin governor, who won kudos from the right for his fights with the unions.

By going after Bush, Cruz can win some notice from conservatives who simply don’t want a third Bush in the White House. Cruz isn’t the only Republican looking to win these voters and Paul, in particular, is turning up the heat on Bush. Right now, these voters are divided between all the various candidates and Cruz needs to score points with them to stand out from the crowd. Going after Bush in his own backyard is one way of doing that.

“... But Cruz has to be careful here. He’s not in the top tier of the Republican primary ...”;

LIE, LIE, LIE.

Cruz and Walker are running at the top of the pack .. even though when they make lists for you to vote on .. they always put Ted at the BOTTOM OF THE LIST. That tells me they are terrified of him (and they think Walker is a pushover so they put him on top) .. But that just confirms to me that Ted is the person I want for President.

Great guy!! Born in Canada. Too Bad.

So??

Is that supposed to mean he is not qualified to be POTUS?

If so, Please provide the relevant sections of the U.S. Constitution that clearly and unambiguously define "Natural Born" as requiring two U.S. Citizens at birth and being born on US Soil.

Lacking that, Please provide the relevant sections of U.S. Federal Law that clearly and unambiguously define "Natural Born" as requiring two U.S. Citizens at birth and being born on US Soil.

Lacking that, Please provide the relevant rulings of the U.S. Supreme Court that clearly and unambiguously define "Natural Born" as requiring two U.S. Citizens at birth and being born on US Soil.

You won't because you can't because they don't exist anywhere except in your mind and in sources that are not legal or constitutional in nature.

Methinks that's a bit strong.

I listened to this woman last night and my blood is still boiling over what she’s uncovered—Lamar Alexander should be strung up over the stealth and quickness he’s using to get this through before anyone has an opportunity to ferret out the sh*t in Commie Core:

“Think about this. If we no longer have public schools with locally elected school board members, what will happen to your taxes? What happens to your vote and your voice in government? If our public school system is changed to a privatized “choice” system that uses our hard earned taxes with no elected boards, who controls what is taught? The parents? The citizen voters? Charter Schools are the ultimate goal for the takeover of public education. Charter schools are privately owned, usually for profit, with no elected local school board members, and they use public tax money. Plus, parents have no say in how they are run or what is taught.”

Everyone should contact their school boards with a copy of this article—they’ll soon lose their jobs and we’ll be screwed, too.

Did you read the article?

Are you worried about your property taxes going up?

Are you concerned about NOT having a vote in the election of members of the school board?

Please read the article:
