Scott Walker and the art of winning
The Week ^ | Jan 30, 2015 | Matt K. Lewis

What we really crave is a conservative winner who doesn't cave. And Scott Walker is very arguably that guy.

He won in 2010. He picked a fight with Big Labor and won. He survived a recall. And he won again in 2014 — by almost the same margin as he did in 2010. That's three wins in four years for a man who governed as a conservative reformer in a state that the Republican presidential nominee hasn't carried since 1984.

My “Anger Score” is off the chart.

He supports amnesty for illegal aliens and is BORING on the stump.

He is a fighter and a winner though.

Excellent VP material.

I can write a small book on all the hoops I had to jump through to acquire US citizenship in 1970. I came here legally on a student visa, earned a graduate degree in engineering from U of Iowa, was sponsored by my employer for resident visa after 18 months of proven work record, which almost was rejected by immigration, the Dean of engineering college had to interject with Immigration on my behalf to get through that hurdle. After that I had to fight with immigration over my draft registration status. FBI investigated my case and gave me 100% clearance. After that I had to wait 3 more years to become eligible for citizenship. I had to pass a test on knowledge of US Constitution during a verbal interview.

I’m mixed on the college degree thing. I only recently learned that he didn’t have a degree and was surprised by it. I think being a governor and being obviously smart overcome the degree issue. If he came across as a bumpkin then it would do him in. But he doesn’t, so it’s not a show stopper IMO.

In my post #22, I forgot to add, that is why I am virulently opposed to any path to citizenship for anyone who broke laws and is here illegally.

I have read somewhere that he is on track to finish his college degree before election in 2016.

indeed, i hear you. and all the hoops are worth it. my mom and i had to be naturalized. me because i was born on an air force base overseas and i couldn’t apply to serve in the armed forces with out a certificate. my mom was a japanese national who my dad married (under tremendous duress from his c/o all the way up to the ambassador of japan) who jumped through many a hoop herself (including culture and language barriers).

it’s just more reason that we conservative types have to fight amnesty to the last breath.

Wisconsin is NOT blue.

It’s roughly 50-50 by voting population.

By county its almost all red.

Remove Milwaukee and Madison and it’s overwhelmingly red.

The only reason why people have the misperception it’s blue is because the democrats have had an extensive cheating network here being bolstered by the Illinois democrat cheating machine.

I live here and have for most of my life. I know what I am talking about.

That’s what I would do if I were Bush. I’d ask Walker to be my VP. I had a nightmare about that. I think he’d say yes as well.

THINGS ANGRY WHITE DUDE WOULD DO BEFORE VOTING FOR JEB BUSH IN ’16

So AWD was thinking of things I’d rather do than vote for Jeb Bush:

Move to Detroit and begin my new rap career as MC Cracka

Have a long makeout session with Whoopi Goldberg with Kenny G playing on the stereo

Invite Michael Moore to my house for dinner

Attend a Alec Baldwin/Susan Sarandon/Sean Penn movie fest

Turn in my guns and join the Brady Foundation

Get a cat for a pet and name him Mr. Mittens

Turn in all my cowboy boots and wear nothing but Birkenstocks with socks

Pull for those comm-a-nist, blue-scumbelly Tarholes from UNC

Sell my family members to be used for medical experiments in North Korea

Accept Allah and start blowing the sh*t out of everything…including my favorite gun range

I call Wisconsin Purple. Media calls it blue because it has gone to democrats in presidential elections for many cycles.

That is too simplistic to call it blue for that. The elections have been very close. And if the two main urban centers were gon the state would have always gone red. Madistan and Milwaukee are libtard socialist strongholds and hardly represent the state, where 85-90% of the counties are always red.

Cruz is #1 on my wish and admire list. But I am not convinced he can win in general. Until then, I am moving walker to #1 and Cruz to #2 on my list.

Yeah, well, in politics urban centers count. We don’t get to pretend they don’t exist. Given this, the blue label doesn’t seem unreasonable.

Useless to argue with you. If anything it’s a purple state b/c the wins and losses are always very very close.

I call Wisconsin Purple, not Blue. It can be flipped depending on the skill of the candidates.

It can be flipped by how much cheating the democrats engage in. Routinely 1-2% of the votes in Milwaukee and Madison and a few other places are considered to be fraudulent for the democrats.

This is where we conservatives have to figure something out....and I’m being serious....what exactly are we calling amnesty? Path to citizenship? Absolutely that is amnesty!!

Work permits? More of a grey area. We’ve had those and migrant labor for many many decades.

Admitting we’re not ever going to deport 12 million people (for dozens of logistical, legal and emotional reasons) - I don’t consider this amnesty. Just a sucky reality.

That’s quite a list you got there. Oh, I hear when Whoopie “makes whoopie”, she likes a dark room lit up with Lava Lamps, and Coconut Oil spritzed on her black linen sheets.
