Ted Cruz Strikes Back: ‘Too Many Republicans Willing to Be Complicit’
The Daily Signal ^ | December 15, 2014 | Rob Bluey, editor-in-chief

In the midst of the debate over a mammoth government spending bill, Republicans and Democrats found something to agree on: their dislike for Sen. Ted Cruz, who forced a rare weekend session for the Senate.

But rather than back down, Cruz opted to call out Washington politicians during on Sean Hannity’s radio show Monday.

“Enough is enough,” he told Hannity.

The outspoken Texas Republican joined with Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, to force the Senate to take a vote related to President Obama’s recent immigration actions. The measure was defeated, 22-74, after Cruz said Republican leaders urged senators to vote against the constitutional point of order. (View the roll call vote.)

“Too many politicians in Washington don’t believe we can stand and fight,” Cruz told Hannity.

He lamented that Republican leaders are frequently pleading to put off tough fights for another day, as they wanted to do on immigration. Cruz predicted Republicans would once again find an excuse not to act next year as well:

Mark my words, Sean, the odds are enormous that come January or February, the very same voices are going to say, ‘Well, we’ve got a Republican majority, but we don’t have 60 votes, so we can’t fight yet.’ If we had 60 votes, they would come back and say, ‘You know, we have 60 votes but we don’t have 67. We don’t have enough to override a veto.’

“It’s always, always, always let’s fight tomorrow,” Cruz said. “At some point, what the heck are we doing? Either stand up and demonstrate we believe the principles we keep promising voters … or pack it up already.”

Cruz used the radio show to make a populist pitch. He said during the first six years of Obama’s presidency, “the rich and powerful have gotten richer and more powerful.” He noted that the top 1 percent in America today earn a higher share than in any year since 1928.

“The bigger government gets, the more it becomes a favor factor, the more it becomes special gifts for the powerful and connected,” Cruz said. “So what was the priority of both houses in this omnibus? It was every payoff for all the lobbyists rather than honoring the promises.”

Cruz told Hannity that two issues drove the Republican wave in November: stopping Obamacare and halting Obama’s amnesty plans.

“Too many people in Washington treat the promises to the voters as just what you say when you’re campaigning and they treat the payoffs to K Street as really what their priorities are,” he said.

“It seems to me that is exactly backwards. We ought to be fighting for the working men and women who are getting hammered by this failed Obama agenda, and sadly, by too many Republicans willing to be complicit in it.”

Actually, there was little they disagreed on here. They voted for the Obama status quo, which is exactly what both parties in DC wanted. More spending, Obamacare in place, Obama's dictatorial amnesty funded.

The Republicans get theirs with more H1B’s and less expensive “help” for their lawns and homes. Unless the tea party re-surges, I might be too sick to vote in 2016. Sick of Republicans.

Complicity is the purpose of the Republican Party.

Ted Cruz is the only Republican who can win in 2016, but the GOPe will do everything it can to shoot him down.

Can’t have an authentic, Bible-believing, Constitutional Conservative president you know! What will Country Club set think?

That would be like throwing holy water on a vampire. I used to think the country club set actually believed in some of the same things I do. I don't think that way much anymore.

It’s a different country club set. They’ve come to realize that to keep being able to go to the country club they’ve got get richer. That means someone has to get poorer.

I’m all for capitalism. But it’s not true capitalism when everything is fixed to support the rich and elites. And that’s what republicans do.

Like I’ve said before, there are those who go to D.C. to make a difference then see how it’s impossible to they can either go home and go back to work or they can join the party and cash in. Sadly, most cash in if they can.

I was bitterly disappointed to hear Pat Robertson bad-mouth Ted on the 700 Club today. He said that because of Ted’s action over the weekend, Harry Reid used the session to ram through Obama’s appointments for judges and positions, which would have been delayed if not for Cruz causing the weekend session. I have financially supported the 700 Club for decades, and now Pat is shooting down the ONLY solid Conservative Christian candidate we’ve got. Bad move, Pat!!!

We’ve seen such betrayal by the so-called Republican party so many times I find myself wondering, is Cruz just playing up the “rebel” role like so many others have? If he were to run and make it to the Oval Office, would he then become Obola 2, the sequel?

I honestly don’t know what to believe anymore. I am completely jaded. Just burned out on watching “conservatives” and “republicans” go full RINO as soon as they secure a spot among the “royals” with all the perks and luxuries.

As a leader, Cruz should learn to inspire. He can't seem to get anything done because his fellow Republicans don't feel he is a leader. Reagan not only inspired Republicans, but Democrats too. he needs to read up about Reagan and how he got results. Of course Reagen was Governor so that helped tremendously.

We have to start right now with planned actions for the 16 primaries and election. Make it known also with Chuck Norris type emphasis that they are in our sights to be primaried.

We have to spend the money, whatever we can afford. It does not have to be huge sums like the corps spend but just remember this, an elephant can be killed by ants. Lots and lot of soldier ants. Collectively we can amass millions of votes.

CAESAR:"Et tu, Brute?" "[And you, too, Brutus"?] Caesar calling out to Brutus as his friend Brutus and other Roman Senators suddenly and repeatedly began stabbing Caesar to death.

VOTERS WHO VOTED FOR REPUBLICANS THIS MIDTERM: "Et tu, Boehner?" Referring to how Speaker Boehner betrayed and stabbed midterm Republican voters in the back with his passage of the recent traitorous spending bill.

BOEHNER: Who is Judas? Why do people keep calling me Judas as I walk down the street? Why did someone recently leave 30 pieces of silver on my doorstep? I only want what is best for America. As my new secret friend Obama likes to say: "It was the right thing to do.God bless America!"
