The percentage of conversation about Sen. Ted Cruz that was positive on Facebook fell after the Texas Republican criticized net neutrality, calling it “Obamacare for the Internet.”

Positive interactions related to Cruz on Facebook dropped from 52 percent over the period of Oct. 29 to Nov. 4 to 34 percent from Nov. 5 to Nov. 11, following the firebrand Texas senator’s reaction to Obama’s embrace of net neutrality, according to data supplied by Facebook.

The percentage of negative interactions for the first week examined was 44 percent, with 4 percent of the interactions being neutral. For the later time period, the percentage of negative interactions was 61 percent, with 5 percent of the interactions being neutral.

Facebook — which supplied the data about the interactions to ABC News as part of a partnership — defines interactions as “posts, comments, likes and shares” on the social network....

Hmm, guess Zuckerberg is in favor of net neutrality and is controlling the conversation.

It’s interesting ABC should find Ted Cruz’s negatives so newsworthy and completely ignore Jonathan Gruber and how Obamacare was built on a tissue of lies.

Cruz should AVOID this discussion, IMHO.

That tweets and facebook comments grow negative about Cruz, by the same airheads that loved 0’care, should be of little concern. The cutting edge of basement underwear comments don’t mean much.

But I think this, specifically, is a poisonous issue for Ted Cruz! He should just lay off.

Let me get this straight, senator Cruz speaks up about keeping the Internet out of government control and he decreases in popularity. ???

There are a lot of positive things about Net Neutrality.

But, you can expect that the Obama version will be anything but neutral.

Cruz is right to be suspicious of Obama’s motives. But, I think he could have expressed it in a better way.

ABC news has time to cover Ted Cruz’s facebook popularity after Net Neutrality...but not Grubergate. SMH

Here’s the real story: Cruz made a terrible mistake in judgement by picking thie battle.

He didn’t have to, he could have stayed out of it but instead he’s become a lightning rod, taking a position on an issue that A) nearly NO ONE understands, B) is highly complex, involves multiple issues and literally does mean different things to different people, and C) because of the above is not something that most Americans are going to study enough to understand and make an informed decision about. Cruz put himself in a no-win situation, because in the details there are aspects of Net Neutrality that are very conservative in principle, and some aspects that are not. He will be attacked from all sides and if he tries to clarify by digging even deeper into the abyss, will be ignoring the First Rule of Holes.

A poor choice of fights to take the lead on, regardless of whether you agree with him or not. It would have been much smarter to just let people watch Obama struggle on his own. But now, he’s got a target, and Obama likes nothing better.
