NYC, the city of 30 million real sewer rats

They do love to huddle with their own, don't they? Just like rats.

Strange if true, she's always been a party stalwart.

41% is pathetic for this year, it's hard to believe it was that bad. I really hoped she would pull it out, my wife is even more upset than I am.

Where are the maps that showed the map in 2012 to compare? I would be very interested to see them.

Soooo the older/wiser and more responsible (married) one is the less likely they are to vote democrat.

There are always inexplicable anomalies in the mix (like my 80-something year old parents).

Not every Dem is a pinko Commie freak. Some have just been voting that way for so long, and have become so resistant to any facts, logic, or reason, that they keep pulling the D lever.

We've got low infos on the R side too.

“.......... Libs in the big cities on the coast, most of whom moved here from out of state.”

I make that point in posts all the time,,,,,

Two points:

formerly solid Republican California was over-whelmed post-WWII by emigration from the East Coast.

they brought their “tame” RINO neighbors with them.

Windy, thanks, great charts.

Too bad my state of DE is entirely blue.

Even NJ where I used to live is not entirely blue.

Dems are experiencing big reversals at the state and local level all over the country.

This is an unheralded result of the tea party (small t, small p). Committed grass roots conservatives have been inspired to run for office at the local level and the cream of the crop is slowing rising up the political ladder. The GOP bench is becoming far, far deeper than that of the Rats.

Occupy Wall Street was supposed to be the Rats answer, but it was quickly taken over by radicals and leeches and burned itself out.

The tea party idea is alive and well and hard to identify in many cases. That's why the Rats hate it so much.

The young people are the ones who are getting screwed the worst by 0bama and the democrats. I bet that a lot of young people who voted for 0bama in 08 and/or 12 voted Republican yesterday. I think a lot of the Democrat get out the vote effort got young FORMER democrat voters to the polls.

That has to be difficult during the holidays.

Actually, it's the other 360 days of the year. My family tends to mind their manners and put politics aside on the holidays.

They gotten better about it over the years. When Zero was running in 2008, they were insufferable. Especially after he won. There are a few that I haven't talked to since then, because the division ran so deep.

The immediate family is more of less disillusioned with 0 and the Dems at this point. They have been for years, but haven't quite broken away from the herd. We'll see if any of them wise up and jump ship by 2016. I hope so.

Many of our family members are liberals. Fortunately, most of them have moved south.

WBUR put out a map this morning that shows it. Virtually every town in the state went Republican except for a few, the cities and the western part of the state. We gained seats in the legislature and Senate as well this time. It’s a start.

“What will happen when all us old White men die off?”

I am an old white man. I am a conservative. I was taught well by my father. He had no love for FDR or for his policies. Also no love for Henry Wallace, one of FDR's cabinet, then VP. I have voted in every presidential election beginning when I was first eligible (age 24 then - at 20 too young to vote in 1956). I have always voted for the Republican candidate. Not always my favorite Republican at the time, but better than any Democrat.

I taught my son...he is at least as conservative as I am. And he has taught his children also, and well. My grandchildren are also conservative.

There is hope! The future is theirs to make better! And perhaps to help us return this great country around and reestablish it as the Republic is was at the Founding. Our ancestors were there at the Founding. May their contribution not be in vain.

He’s better than the alternative and he knows how to manage people, like an executive should.

Yea, but sad that all that blue in California wipes out all the red in at least 4 states. Including the Red in California

"I just remembered that I voted for McGovern in 1972. "

You too? My first vote, and only one ever for a democrat. Recently back from RVN, and still pissed how the politicians micromanaged the war and got so many of us butchered for nothing.

Yes that small blue spot in the southwest corner is Memphis. I was looking at the larger blue spot to the east and north.

Dear HRC,

Grandmotherhood is a wonderful activity to devote ones later years to. We suggest you partake of the opportunity to engage in it full time. From this day forward.

No kidding,
