Several weeks ago at a birthday dinner with my uber leftist in-laws....the ebola thing was just getting to be big news. My sis-in-law was going to be flying to China a few days later. She scoffed at the rubes who worry about ebola. I said to her I was imposing upon her a lengthy quarantine and would not see her until at least Thanksgiving or Christmas and then I might just drive by and wave.

She had said that she was “only going to O’Hare” and then to China. Hubby and I laughed “ONLY O’Hare! Gee No ONE from other countries goes through O’Hare!”.

It’s about 3 weeks since then. That was another freebie tax payer paid trip because she’s a publik skool superintendant. She was already to China once before in the last 12 months. Also to Spain and Peru. Had to climb Mount Matchupichu or whatever it’s called. Life is good at the 200,000 dollar a year real estate tax paid job. So many paid vacations on “official business” I can’t even keep up with them all. Oh, forgot her trip to Cuba for Christmas. That was with the school too. China twice, Cuba, Spain and Peru. All in one year’s time. It’s good to be queen!

In Pennsylvania, the governor tried to cut funding for education. There was a big stink and some of the funding was restored, but now that the incumbent is running for another term, his Dem challenger is making those cuts a big issue. As in “the Governor doesn’t care about the CHILDREN!!!”

The reality is that most of the funding the Governor wanted to cut had little to nothing to do with education. Huge amounts were spent on salaries, new stadiums and those official business trips. We spend huge amounts of money in the name of “education;” yet, in a large percentage of the schools most of the students don’t graduate and most of those who do can’t read or write. You would think people would want to know where their tax dollars are going if the children aren’t being educated, but no. The teachers, schools and governments demand more money and the taxpayers just pay.

People trying to politicize ebola are making a big mistake. 2 people got it here, and that’s probably all that are going to get it. There’s really not much of a win there, very hard to hang your government incompetence hat on 2 sick people.

I’ll bet you whole paychecks. Ebola just doesn’t have the oomph to hit hard in America, doesn’t matter how stupid the president is. I know in the echo chamber of FR it’s got a lot of play, but all the big diseases get play here, as does anything that could conceivable be blamed on Obie. Outside of this rather small echo chamber people by and large don’t give a crap about ebola. Any worries they did have got lost in the boredom of nothing interesting actually happening.

The county has 728,799 and the city has about 130,000. New businesses going up every day. Here’s the newest, in the mall parking lot, Pollo Tropical

Well yeah because you’re 1 county north of the only 2 times somebody actually caught ebola in America. But how much of the country is 1 county away from Dallas? In that section that’s more than 1 country from Dallas (and also not riding NYC subway) popularly known as “the vast majority of the country” people have lost interest. Ebola is now a Halloween costume for the rest of the country:
