Congressional Democrats are siding with the Obama administration — and against a growing number of Americans — when it comes to a government mandated travel ban from Ebola hotspots in Africa.
While 67 percent of Americans support the idea of a travel ban, many elected Democrats are decidedly against the idea. The Hill reports, “House Democrats are pushing back hard against proposals to institute a travel ban in the fight against the Ebola virus.”
Texas Democrat Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee told The Hill, “I don’t think we gain anything by spending our time talking about quarantines [of entire countries]. We don’t have an epidemic, and for that reason I don’t think that calling for a quarantine of countries answers the question. We have to turn internally and look at our own selves and make sure our health infrastructure is where it needs to be.”
Democrat congresswoman Gwen Moore of Wisconsin said of a travel ban, “Aside from being impractical, this reactionary strategy will force Ebola patients underground making it nearly impossible to track their movements, hinder the capacity for international healthcare workers to transport and administer critical aid, and erode the continent’s fragile economy.”
She didn’t elaborate as to how that would come to pass, or how it would impact Americans, the people she’s sworn to protect, but she apparently wasn’t asked.
Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Thomas Frieden, and the White House, have been adamantly opposed to a travel ban, siding with Jackson Lee in saying it would make things worse....

You can say that again. This is such a slam-dunk issue.
How utterly remote are benefits derive from those countries as contrasted to what an ebola pandemic will cost in lives, health, finances, and productivity?
Americans should keep in mind that if ebola becomes widespread here, and even if one miraculously survives...it carries a lifetime sentence of arthritis issues, joint problems, eyesight deterioration, and autoimmune breakdown.

The open-borders damned fools would rather risk the grisly, painful deaths of millions of Americans than admit they’ve been damned fools.
All it took was 1 sick person from Liberia and our highly advanced healthcare system was shown to be ill prepared to deal with just one case of Ebola. We don’t need to risk importing any more. Two nurses are already infected and many more were needlessly exposed to this disease. Why do Democrats insist on putting their constituents at risk for the cause of open borders?
Are we smarter than gorillas? Wait scratch that. Some grant will suck out taxpayer money to answer that.
Substitute native Scandinavians of Norway for the travelers to Gwen Moore and SJ Lee and see how they changes their tune.
Just a short ten months ago, Africa (and the world) had ONE ebola patient.
Even the most educated and intelligent Democrats like Ms. Sheila do not seem to grasp the effects of compounded interest.
Accepting such a ban would make their Dear Leader appear culpable for these fresh, exciting new diseases we’ve imported into the country. Because to these scheming, writhing parasites, party is more important than country. And if this isn’t the most disgusting displays of same ever, I don’t where you’ve been.

Really? A) we thought you had it figured out by checking their temp and questionnaires at the african airports.
And B) it is hard to slip by underground once they are spewing from both ends.
Also, C) You were tracking all vectors perfectly up to now, right? That is working well...

Anyway, looks like our government want straight up murder us.
Enemies of America. All should be forced to come into contact with ebola for this madness!
Just think: most of these people will coast to easy re-election this Nov. :D

Something is odd. Usually they pull out the tortured logic when no lives are at stake and votes can be gained.

And the Democrat’s Biological Warfare Against America goes along as planned.
A quarantine should be required for aid workers and others returning from Africa. In fact, I read that the Army is considering preparing a facility to quarantine the 4,000 troops that Obama is throwing away on Liberia.
But they need to stop all other travel by people from those places. And stop it at the start: they shouldn’t be allowed to board planes until this disease is under control in their countries.
It’s probably not going to prevent some individual from sneaking through other African countries and getting here, but it at least lessens the odds a bit.
Go right ahead you lunatic Dems. YOU WILL OWN THIS DISASTER
