2016 elections: Ted Cruz for president?
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram ^ | October 4, 2014 | Maria Recio and Anna M. Tinsley

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is widely considered to be running for president in 2016.

But he was really put out that someone apparently connected to him said so, anonymously, in a National Journal story and Cruz took to social media to make his point.

“Heidi and I have not made any decisions about political plans past the mid-term elections,” Cruz posted on Facebook, referring to his wife. “Clearly we have an overzealous supporter out there making freelance comments, but to be clear, no decision has been made.

“Whoever this ‘anonymous advisor’ was, he or she had no authority to speak, and doesn’t know what they’re talking about.”(continued)

He is quite correct to say nothing about this before November 5.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and I’ll keep saying it as long as it is necessary that ...

TED CRUZ IS A ONCE IN A GENERATION AND PERHAPS LIFETIME SUPERSTAR LEADER WHO IS SO QUICK IN HIS THINKING AND POLITICAL INSTINCTS THAT HE WILL TAKE HIS PLACE BESIDE RONALD REAGAN AS THE ICON OF CONSERVATISM.

HE IS DESTINED TO BE PRESIDENT; NOTHING CAN STOP IT.

Seriously, if one looks at all the legislation he has introduced or proposed, and looks at his viewpoints and studies the nuances of his positions and statements, it becomes clear he is a master of politics. The work effort alone dwarfs any group of establishment RINOs.

Even liberals acknowledge that Cruz is off-the-scale smart and they fear taking him on. He successfully evades all of their traps and gotcha situations; they can’t make any smear stick against him.

But the clincher for me is that ED Bob Dole calls Cruz out as an ‘extreme radical’. That signals the RINO Establishment is afraid of Cruz. GOOD!

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and I’ll keep saying it as long as it is necessary that ... I will raise one million dollars for Ted Cruz if he decides to run and will show others how to raise money.

IF anyone would just stop and listen to him speak about his love for America, his uplifting of all that made this country great, and his own personal commitment to returning that greatness, only political hacks would not wish to see this guy in the White House. They will do all they can with the sideshow antics (birthers), but believe me when I say that this guy is THE GOODS, THE REAL DEAL, THE LEADER of the free world in waiting.

for the sake of this country I do hope you are right that Cruz will be president, hopeful our next president. God speed to Ted Cruz. The RINO and Dem establishment will assault him from all sides once / if he announces. I agree with you, Cruz scares the hell out of the DC establishment and unfortunately we can be sure we'll see Cruz get treated in the MSM just like it treated Sarah Palin.

You are not alone in your take on Cruz. As great as Reagan was, Cruz would surpass him. Reagan had great homespun wit, Cruz has off the scale intellect. You need the latter in these days and times.

The elites of the repub party have been calling him names ever since he got elected to the Senate.

They also told him to - basically, “sit down and shut up”. He basically told them - “I’m not going to just sit here”!

And .. I’ll never get over McCain’s snotty statement calling Cruz “Whackobird”. I’ve not given the GOP a dime ever since that statement.

But, I liked him before they started calling him names .. and the name-calling just convinced me I was right.

If anybody is interested, Ben Shapiro has a new book, “How to Debate the Left”. I saw him talk about his book on C-SPAN. Wow! This guy is just loaded with info that would help the conservatives get a better voice.

Also, another good book is “Take No Prisoners”, by David Horowitz. When he was talking about his book on C-SPAN, he mentioned a few cutesy phrases the dems like to use, and he had the TRUTHFUL answer we need in order to reply to those phrases - his stuff was DYNAMITE. We need to know these things and keep saying them to those who are too lazy to search such things out.

I can hardly wait for my copy of both books to arrive.

Let’s get geared up and ready to take our country back.

Politicians who get promoted as "the smartest guy in the room" usually don't work out as president.

HE IS DESTINED TO BE PRESIDENT; NOTHING CAN STOP IT.

I think you are underestimating the combined power of the Chamber, the GOP/RNC, DNC, ACORN, MSM, academia, 10,000 501(c)NGOs and every alphabet government agency will be working together to stop, (no) destroy him. He will be lucky if he is not indited by the end of the primary by some local dem judge which is the new normal.

This ain't paintball, this is going to be a knife fight to the death. The treatment Bush received was nothing compared full force of thermonuclear hell that they will unleash on Cruz.

Given the combined forces of evil aliened to destroy this country and Cruz I have no idea how we are going to pull this off.

I believe that this is our last real chance to turn this country around. If we fail, we are done as a republic.

Boy, I hope I don’t get suspended for this but I need to ask:

Am I the only conservative who is concerned that Ted Cruz is married to a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs?

I always think of Goldman Sachs as major source of financial corruption of Wall Street.

What do you all think. I really want to know.

She is not a “managing director” there. She’s a regional director of a division, which is a far lower position.

Cruz met his wife while working on the George W. Bush presidential campaign of 2000. Cruz’s wife is currently head of the Southwest Region in the Investment Management Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and previously worked in the White House for Condoleezza Rice and in New York as an investment banker.
