Nicolle Wallace told her new co-hosts on “The View” Monday that her relationship with Sarah Palin was “irreparably damaged” following the infamous Katie Couric interviews during the 2008 presidential campaign.
Wallace, a senior advisers and representatives of Sen. John McCain and the former Alaska governor’s campaign, revealed Monday that her relationship with Palin “erupted and exploded” in the aftermath of the interview, in which Palin claims she was set up “for failure.”
“Our relationship really erupted and exploded, and was irreparably damaged after the Katie Couric interview, in which she had thought I had set her up for failure,” said Wallace.
“I felt like the questions were pretty fair. [Couric] asked what she had read,” said the former Bush flack. “That was really the end of the end.”(continued)

It’s Palin who was “lazy and out of it.” Her “official” fundraising site was declared improper, but she could have gotten enough support as a private citizen to fight the suits. Even without the cash, she surely could have lasted two more years in office, as she promised the Alaskan people.
Imagine Churchill resigning his office over a measly $500,000 legal debt: “We shall fight on the beaches ... we shall fight in the fields and in the streets ... we shall never surrender ... unless they file a bunch of FOIA suits.”

The myriad lawsuits were designed to bankrupt her and her ability to govern the state. Said lawsuits were summarily dropped with the election, as they were bogus to begin with. The laws on who pays for defense of such lawsuits made for lawfare on a statewide scale.
