Pastor says he was paid by McDaniel camp (to claim he was paid by Cochran!)

Mississippi pastor Stevie Fielder says he was paid by Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel's (R) campaign to give an interview to a conservative blogger in which he said Sen. Thad Cochran's (R-Miss.) campaign had asked him to pay people to vote for Cochran.

Fielder told conservative blogger Charles Johnson that he had been asked by a Cochran staffer to pay African-American Democrats $15 to vote for Cochran in his hard-fought primary. He's now under investigation.

Johnson has said he paid Fielder $2,000 for the interview and related texts and emails, and is now reportedly facing a subpoena from the state attorney general.

But Fielder told Mississippi Public Broadcasting that it was McDaniel's campaign spokesman, Noel Fritsch, that paid him.

This would be hilarious, if it weren't so pathetic.

Should have had him swear an affidavit right at the outset. Then he either stands by it or is charged. Now it’s just a joke

Perhaps Johnson did pay him for the interview (no wrongdoing by McDaniel), then the pastor decided there was more money to make by doubling back and damaging McDaniel by making this allegation.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Cockran’s campaign decided to turn a negative into a positive for them by paying off the guy to double back and accuse the McDaniel campaign of laying him to lie.
Nothing is too low for a GOPe/ rat.

True. Johnson always seemed more concerned about the money. In fact that was his original complaint, that he hadn’t been paid as agreed.

Johnson is a fool. He’s destroyed his cred.

That Dem win may be what helps the Dems maintain control of the Senate — is that what you and conservatives want?

No, we want good government. That means getting rid of Cochran at all costs.

“No, we want good government. That means getting rid of Cochran at all costs.”

There you go again — you are just admitting that you think that a government led by Obama and Harry Reid is “good government”, because the result of what you are proposing results in exactly that.

As if it makes a difference. Even when the Republicans had power, the Democrats were still calling the shots.

The GOPe should have thought about that before they started all this garbage. Whatever happens is on them!

I said this in an earlier thread and I’ll repeat it:
Forget vote fraud, forget race-baiting ads, forget Cochran’s refusal to debate McDaniel (if in fact he’s still capable of speaking w/out a handler). The Republican primary was so Republicans could choose their representative in the November elections. The operative word here is “Republicans”. After he trailed McDaniel June 3 he begged the state Democrats to save his political butt. God only know what deal he cut to get their support, but get it he did. His democrat allies came to his rescue, and it is to them he now owes much.
Bottom line-our “Republican” candidate was chosen by Democrats with the blessings of the RNC. If it had been Republicans alone making the choice McDaniel would’ve won. Period. The actions of Cochran and the RNC make a mockery of the word “representative”, and I will NOT go along with this blatant theft. As for those who think this is sour grapes just remember, if the poker game is crooked, it doesn’t matter if it’s the only game in town, you get out of it. And that’s just what I’m doing this Fall...

Wonder how much the Cochran camp paid him to say that? MS politics has absolutely no credibility after this debacle.

GONE McDaniel is the reality. His great political future is behind him and his appearances on Hannity and other suck ups are in his rear view mirror also. Get over it.

You seem to ignore the fact that an Elected US Senator, or Governor, or member of Congress, regardless of party, represents all of the people in his/her district or state. Name one politician who will not welcome votes from the other party. There is a name for them. Crossovers. One of the first rules of a successful campaign is “Ask for the vote.”

Your barnyard-humping senile fraud Thad the Cad lied and cheated. It’s no wonder his approval ratings are sky high amongst his Democrat buddies and in the toilet with REAL Republicans. Face facts !

Accept it. McDaniel is history. Your senator is still going to be Lamar. From the looks of things Harry Reid will not be the majority leader after November in spite of the best efforts of outsiders to upset our apple cart.
