Businessman David Perdue stunned Georgia’s Republican political establishment Tuesday by capturing the party’s U.S. Senate nomination in his first run for office.

The former CEO of Reebok and Dollar General toppled 11-term Rep. Jack Kingston by a narrow margin, setting up a battle of political newcomers with famous kin in the fall. Perdue’s cousin, Sonny, was a two-term governor and Nunn’s father, Sam, was a four-term U.S. Senator....

I’m your neighbor in Tennessee, and I’ve seen the ilk of phonies like Perdue for years. 2 decades ago, they usually had the common courtesy to run as Democrats. Since Dems don’t get elected statewide much anymore in the South, they run as Republicans using the same old Democrat playbook of pretending to be Conservative.

I think the problem there for you, dude, is that you don’t know Perdue.

Nifster, you seem to ignore your own past posts where Perdue is concerned... you’ve gone from affirming that Perdue was NOT a Conservative to telling DL he’s going to magically lock arms with Ted Cruz. You’re just lying not only to DL, but to yourself...

“There was no true conservative running in this primary....” — Nifster, 5/21/2014 — Perdue, Kingston to Face off in Ga. Senate Runoff

“Could Perdue be the worst ever??? Sure thing.” — 5/22/2014 — Perdue, Kingston to Face off in Ga. Senate Runoff

So in 2 months, you now proclaim Perdue, whom you stated plainly was not a true Conservative, is now Ted Cruz’s twin.

Then surely you know Kingston repeatedly lied about Perdue in his ads. I voted for Perdurable because of that.

Both of these guys were MAJOR class whiners. All the ads they ran were just pointing out how much the other guy sucks, never mention anything they did. In this case , i dont think it matters which one won. They will both be RINOs... Living here in hellanta it was torture listening to their ads, reminded me of whiney dems against Bush wayyyyyyyy wayyyyyyy all damn day!!

This was simply the choice between the devil you did know (Kingston) and the one you didn’t (Perdue)...

If you look at election results from last night, incumbents didn’t do well AT ALL. Perdue won ALL the metro Atlanta counties. This was an anti-incumbent vote more than anything else...

Perdue says Bob Corker is a senator that he admires. Wait... WHAT?

Due to establishment victories it is possible the Dems will win 4 seats that should have been easy wins for the Republicans this year with a strong conservative candidate not prone to making stupid mistakes:

Kentucky
North Carolina
Georgia
Mississippi

Like I said, i don’t think it matters in this case which won. They were both equally bad, but in slightly different ways...
If they ran the same whiny campaign against Handel that they ran against each other, I wouldnt be surprised to see them lose... not a good choice for this race :(

Perdue hung the Chamber of Commerce endorsement around Kingston’s neck...his ads said that the Chamber OWNED Kingston, and thus Kingston would vote for amnesty..

I would vote for Purdue simply because of the Chamber of Commerce endorsement for Kingston. Sort if like an endorsement from AARP. The endorsements can tell you a lot about the candidate. In this case, the endorsement said “amnesty” to me.

Kingston repeatedly said he would NOT vote for any form of amnesty. I believe him..IMHO..he's been a reliable conservative. Unfortunately for Jack..most Georgian's didn't..

FYI.. Erick Erickson at Red State has an in-depth analysis here ..a good read

Nice catch. And of course notice how this snarky, born again Perdue cheerleader has suddenly been reduced to the sound of crickets chirping.

That chamber of commerce endorsement was a red flag for many. That signaled amnesty to most people.

I heard that some young kid with the last name Carter, who’s a democrat, is leading Deal in all the polls for governor.
So if a democrat is elected the next governor of Georgia and that worthless Michele Nunn beats Purdue, you can all but put Georgia in Hillary Clinton’s column in 2 years. What in the world is happening to the once reliable red state of Georgia????

Here’s some fresh ammo for you; turns out Rove joined forces with CoC to crush TEA party aspirations:

‘“Kingston’s largest backer, who has pumped nearly $3 million into Kingston TV ads is 100% openly pro-amnesty,” the ad says, referring to Kingston’s support from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The U.S. Chamber has been a fervent advocate for amnesty, desirable of low labor costs available from hiring illegal aliens, albeit at the expense of American workers. In December the U.S. Chamber announced that they’d formed a big-moneyed coalition with establishment Republican Karl Rove to join Democrats in attacking conservative Tea Party candidates who are against crony capitalism, but who support free markets.’
