McCain gets a gig that reinforces her ego and allows her to tick off Conservatives.

GLAAD gets a dimiwit who won’t cause any trouble but that they know will tick off Conservatives.

This isn’t really about them trying (by their own definitions) to make the world a better place: it’s about poking people neither likes or respects in the eyes with a sharp stick.
