Like what Blanco and Nagin did during Katrina and what the media did?

Yeah.

as a former Upstate NYer who as a child always went to the “shore” at Seaside Heights I agree with you totally...Christie is the governor and he has to forgo everything else right now....

Nope.

I saw a devasatated coastline and beyond. I saw parts of the State totally devastated and it will take years to rebuild. I saw a Governor concerned about that and doing everything he can for the people of his State. The people who elected him and the people who didn’t.

I saw family and friends lose their houses (we did well, minor losses, many weren’t so fortunate).

I saw the Governor of my State ask for fed money we provided and is our money. Money we taxpayers pay over the amount of any other State. I saw my Governor issue evacs and chastise the Mayor of AC who allowed/encouraged his people to stay, endangering themselves and the responders who would have to rescue them.

Yep. I’m happy and impressed with my Governor. I think we’ll keep him. :)

On an emotional note, I’m sad for the shore of my memories. It’s been devastated. It’s sad. Homes, the economy there, etc. I think it can and will be rebuilt.

Ah Seaside Heights. It’s gone. Sad. A relative’s house is in the ocean. Another one has a boat in their dining room. They’re thinking of bulldozing and selling the land. Too many stories to list.

The shore or down the shore as we know it, in many areas, is gone. And people are still homeless or without power there and in surrounding areas. Christie is doing what he needs to do for this State, what we elected him to do. He’s governing.

We were very fortunate as many weren’t.

I am sorry for the devastation that you have witnessed. I am glad that you came out OK. I have seen similar devastation during my life, and people who have lost everything. At some time in the not so distant future your coastline will recover... more likely the time-line will be measured in months and not years.

None of this excuses the governor that you are so fond of from putting this election in peril and possibly damning the rest of the country to four more years of irreversible damage from the narcissistic Marxist currently occupying the White House. I couldn't give a rats butt what your governor does in New Jersey, but I have a big problem when his actions put a close race for the future of our country in jeopardy. Do you think his pandering was acceptable because you think that maybe it will result in more federal dollars for you and your neighbors? Or do you think that he was too traumatized and/or stupid to understand the consequences of his actions. I honestly don't get it.

Unfortunate for whom? Him? People like me who voted for him?

BS.

First, who wouldn’t vote for him outside of NJ? You and others like you? Right, that’s so many, lol.

Second, he’s stated numerous times he isn’t interested in National politics so how is this unfortunate for him? He’s running for Gov again next time, stated as such, so what’s the issue? there isn’t one other than by you and others like you that think what your delusional minds bring forth is sane. It ain’t. And 6 or 8 yrs from now, what happened today won’t mean a damn thing, lol. So there goes that argument.

Christie was hated here on FR by the most vocal posters anyway so this is just another thing they can harp on. It matters not a damn in NJ and won’t matter nationally in a few years.

Posters can continue to post he’s not Conservative, not pro life, but he is and facts win out. All the time, to people with a brain.

And unlike some social conservatives, he’s also a fiscal conservative. Another plus is he doesn’t allow the media to set the agenda (even when some so called conservative FR posters want to set the agenda).

Heh, Love Christie. Loud mouthed ass he can be at times, which I’m familiar with since I’m from the area, I find it refreshing. Especially in a politician.

This reminds of the Perry hate on here. Love Perry. Couldn’t understand how a “conservative” board could bash him and pretty much slam him and his supporters to the point of getting them banned. Perry, the freakin best Gov of the best State in the Union. Yet he was villified here. WTF?

Christie is to NJ what Perry is to Texas. IMO.

And I don’t give a damn what anyone else says.

How exactly did he put this election in peril? Seriously. No snark. He’s known outside of Jersey where? And if he is, than the he means nothing then means something. Which is it?

how exactly did his actions put this election in peril? State facts. Cos I don’t see any.

More federal dollars of MY money? LMFAO. Last time I checked, I was paying for those federal dollars at a higher rate than the rest of the damn country.

Save your fake concern for the devastation I witnessed and my family and friends are experiencing directly. KMA.

Be honest or at least don’t take me for a fool.

You don’t live in this State and what my governor does doesn’t affect you at all. It’s NJ after all, we’re blue, right?

Pick a side/argument and stick to it. RME.

So what Gov Christie did last week has this tremendous impact on the vote/election? Really? I thought little NJ didn’t matter? Which is it?

And save your concern. I don’t need, didn’t ask for it, and certainly don’t want it.

You don’t get it because you are a moron. Got it now?

So what my Gov is doing, the Gov I voted for, is fine by me. And you don’t live in this State so you don’t get a say imo.

BTW, those Fed dollars, are my TAX DOLLARS. And the fed govt holds them hostage and pretends they “give” them to us. Econ 101.

I don’t know what you saw/watched, but I didn’t see pandering. I saw a Gov doing the best he could for his constituents, one of whom is me. You can buy the media bias. I don’t.

Again, save your snarky concern and KMA.

I don’t care what Christie does as long as he takes care of the devastation in his state, which I think he believes is his first priority. He is up for re-election and I think he knows how it would look to his state if he left to do the rally. I have no proof - just guessing.

He did go overboard with Obama, and maybe he is just being bitter if there is any truth to the rumor that he was at the top of the list as VP. After his narcissistic speech at the RNC, I can’t blame Romney for not choosing him. But, he did campaign with him some in OH. So, all any of us can do is guess as to what’s really going on.

I would never vote for him for VP or POTUS. If I lived in NJ, I probably would. Or not vote at all.

He stated numerous times he wasn’t interested in VP or POTUS. Why can’t people believe that? I don’t get it.

He’s all about being Gov of NJ and he will run again. And, he’s doing what he was elected to do here.

UM, I loved his speech at the Convention. Different strokes I guess. Romney was never going to pick him and he didn’t want it. OMG, why is that so hard to believe?

Campaigned for Romney some? Christie has been his biggest supporter (to the consternation of many here, lol).

We talk about the delusion of the MSM but honestly I’m seeing it here too. Very disappointing.

You know, having that conceited blowhard anywhere near the stage on Sunday would have been a downer.
And letting him ON the stage may have brought the stage down.

No thanks. Christie can stay in New Jersey.

I only saw a few videos of him doing townhalls with Romney, so that’s why I said a few rallies. With the mess this country is in, who in his/her right mind would want to be president? It is going to take a heap of praying and many sleepless nights to get this country back on track.

That would be because Christie is unreliable as a conservative and was overly effusive in his verbal fellatio of the Pres this week.

I give up. Christie is scum here on FR...love him and glad he’s Gov of NJ...no one else really needs to care.

I always laugh at the left eating their own because it doesn’t happen We eat our own. Sad.

No, you didn’t misinterpret it and no one said anything about a moron.

The story was false, and that website is a meely mouthed moderate fountain of nothingness....but on the other hand, there are ample and legitimate reasons for conservatives to be angry at Christie. He was shameless this week, and its pretty obvious he was throwing a fatty didn’t get picked for the team tantrum over Ryan being VP.

You don’t have a clue what I have been through during my life. You are the one being “snarky”. But it doesn’t make a bit of difference... attacking me is a waste of your time because millions of people saw your guv in full pandering mode. Either you didn’t watch the coverage of your beloved governor or you have got some serious “cognitive dissonance” going on. I am not sure which.

Christie was slobbering all over Obama and made it appear that the most divisive president in all of our life times was actually bipartisan. This was worth a hundred million dollars or more in campaign ads because it looked real. You didn’t notice that Romney went from a comfortable lead to one point behind in the gallup poll? It was just a photo op and neither of them actually accomplished anything worthwhile or helped anyone while they were doing it.

I am glad that you feel so good about your guv getting a “fair share” of the federal dollars. Everything should be “fair” to everyone all the time right? Who were you supporting again? It sounds a little like you have gone full on Democrat... a little like the pandering obnoxious fat boy you feel so loyal to.

Why don’t you use a little rationale here and quit being so damned defensive about Jersey. I’m glad he’s governor of NJ too. Far preferable to Corzine, and he brought a great voice of boldness to the GOP for a number of months.

But he has some awful moments too, and by definition outside of the Northeast, he is no true conservative. Those are the facts. There’s not a he’s total rubbish or he’s totally great choice.

He is what he is, a northeastern moderate who made an awful decision a few days ago, likely in a snit because he didn’t get theVP nod. It is what it is.
