Salient point. Romney is following by throwing thoroughly chewed red meat to conservatives instead of leading by making a case to those 47% on why their choices hold them back and weaken the nation, then proposing specific ways to break their bonds of economic slavery brought on by buying into the leftist meme of class envy and entitlement.
That’s the only downside I see...in the statements he made on tape. Verbally casting aside the 47% as unreachable is a mistake, even if it’s true. The MSM will hammer him, but they would have hammered him no matter what with whatever they could get.
I’ll be on the Government dole once my reserve retirement kicks in, but I don’t think he was talking about me.
If Romney can pivot on this and make the case that anybody who wants work should be a Romney voter, then this could help him. Hell, I haven’t been at all energized by anything he’s done outside of this “leak”.
Perhaps there’s worse to come, but I don’t think this is fatal.
